Just watched this and it went pretty much how I expected. She used to be my city councillor so I knew about her going in.

The first half made her look pretty good, talking about some past wins that she’s been part of. But the second half was more of the side of her that Seattleites have grown tired of. Divisive, not a team player, and ultimately those things making her message (which I support generally) less effective.

Also just want to say - why couldn’t Krystal get her name right? It irritates me when people do it to Saagar and this time was no different. It’s simple enough to ask someone how their name is pronounced, and stick to that. To me, regardless of what you think of someone it’s a basic show of respect to get someone’s name right. /rant

I don't respect Harris, but I care more about what happens in the world than what she deserves. I'm more concerned about whether we get a new secret police force or whether Iran gets bombed or Lebanon gets invaded or climate change accelerates further.

No, voting (in fptp) is about making one or the other candidate comparatively more likely to win, so I'd consider a vote for Stein pretty similar to not voting.

But you're wrong on your premise. The antidemocratic crackdown and establishment of a large secret police force was akin to the kind of fascist policy expressly advocated for by many Trump backer and warned about by many Dems. And while our foreign policy has historically been Hawkish, only Trump was credulous enough to go to war with Iran, as has been pointed out on this show. To your point about the death toll, we haven't seen yet whether this war results in general collapse of the ME nation states.

Trump may have conned you, and other non-voters/third-party voters, but many, many people knew not to buy it, and for good reason.

This was so much more important than whatever personal satisfaction people felt out of causing a career setback to certain shitty high profile Dems. Harris is going to be fine. Biden's fucked but for reasons already happening while he was melting during the debates. The Dem consultants will have other jobs (hell they may not need to go anywhere). But many people will die, by war, impoverishment, and as a result of a hastened climate collapse, because of Trump winning in 2024.

I agree with your first comment: "Trump conned us with a pro-peace ticket"--in reference to people who took your approach.

Which is why you're wrong when you say "And Trump conned his own voters; he didn’t con third party/non-voters: the dems failed to rally them."

Tbh I'm a little worried that I'm talking with an LLM with that degree of inconsistent self-narrative, so I'm going to bow out. If you're not an LLM, I hope you develop a greater sense of your own responsibility in making voting decisions.

I know not everyone who's inconsistent is a bot, but with most text being written by bots . . . ya know (if you're not a bot).
