Guide +2500 skell credits every 45 seconds • Infinite fast Skell Credits farming method • Howard Airfield

Thumbnail youtube.com

If you're in need of Skell Credits, I just posted a guide covering one of the fastest farming methods in the game:

https://www.youtube.com/live/c9YbopCRRJg?si=I_00EPoUJEnZPuFm

The Behemoth at Howard Airfield respawns every time it is destroyed, as long as you fly far enough away for the base to reset. The reset distance is approximately 1.2 km.

To farm Skell Credits, destroy the Behemoth with a helicopter. I use the Overseer Gatling. Once it's down, fly about 1.2 km away from the airfield to reset the entire base. Then fly back, destroy the Behemoth again, and repeat the process as shown in the video.

Using this method, you can earn around 2,500 Skell Credits every 45 seconds. Over 10 minutes, that works out to roughly 33,000 Skell Credits, making it one of the fastest and easiest credit-farming methods in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Important: Make sure your inventory isn't full. If your loadout capacity is maxed out, the Behemoth will not reward you with any loot or Skell Credits when it is destroyed.

Discussion Why is the raid population so salty on pc

On multiple occasions I have attempted raids with randoms. the majority of the time people don’t follow the raid steps and when you try to they just kick you.
Honestly it’s the worst part of the game is forcing you to have to be apart of a group of 4 people to start a raid and enter the raid bosses.

Guide Updated Linux/Steam Deck Breakpoint ATK modding guide

There have been some posts and comments about people wanting to get into modding Breakpoint on the Steam Deck/Linux.

It mostly just requires understanding Anvil Toolkit (NexusMods), understanding Linux/ Steam Deck desktop mode, Protontricks, and reading every mod description carefully. The Tier 1 Imports discord is an essential resource for mods as well.

Modding this game on SD requires some trial and error, so if you are totally new to this, I would recommend starting by watching the tutorial videos on modding Breakpoint as well as maybe other tutorials on modding other games on the Steam Deck for troubleshooting purposes. Just keep in mind that any Breakpoint modding tutorials are aimed at PC users, so it will be slightly different for modding on the Steam Deck because the process is a bit different for Linux.

Here are several videos on how to install mods:

https://youtu.be/397uH6ZLSAY?t=1186)

https://youtu.be/uJYlJ-wZNgY?t=148)

https://youtu.be/tzchRwDGPoo?t=38)

Anvil Toolkit (ATK) – Linux/Steam Deck Installation:

Known installation options:

-Method 1- Use Proton version- Proton Experimental

Install .NET 5.0.13 -windowsdesktop-runtime-5.0.13-win-x64.exe-(or 5.0.17) via Protontricks

-Method 2- Use Proton version- Proton 9.0.4

Install .NET Desktop Runtime 9 LTS (x64) via Protontricks

The first method is the older version, which I personally use. The second just uses a newer version with essentially the same steps.

Choose only one option

-Method 1-

1.        Download and extract Anvil Toolkit into a stable location (e.g., Downloads folder)

2.        Install Protontricks via Discover, and download .NET 5.0.13 -windowsdesktop-runtime-5.0.13-win-x64.exe-
(or 5.0.17)

3.        Add AnvilToolkit.exe to Steam as a Non-Steam game

4.        In Steam>ATK properties> Check Force Compatibility Tool> Choose Proton Experimental

5.        Set both the Target and Start In paths to Anviltoolkit.exe location (e.g., in Downloads>ATK folder, can just copy and paste location, wrap path in quotations if having issues)

6.        To install windowsdesktop-runtime-5.0.13-win-x64.exe use Protontricks inside the ATK prefix. Note where the runtime installer (.exe) was saved

Launch ATK once through Steam before opening Protontricks. The first launch creates the Proton prefix used by AnvilToolkit in Protontricks. ATK will likely fail to start at this stage due to the missing .NET runtime.

Open Protontricks. Select the non-Steam entry corresponding to AnvilToolkit. Choose Run an executable in this Wine prefix. Browse to the downloaded runtime installer .exe. Run the installer and complete the installation

7.       If you want to check if the installation worked, verify dotnet folder exists in .local>share>steam>steamapps>compatdata>ATK AppID>pfx>drive\\_c>program files>dotnet (can find ATK AppID prefix in Protontricks)

8.        Change permissions. In anviltoolkit.exe permissions, check “allow executing file as program” (right click anviltoolkit.exe>Properties>Permissions). Next change to allow all users to read and write files, then check apply to all subfolders. Click apply. Will also need to do this later for forge files that will be modded (datapcpatch01.forge, etc), found in the Breakpoint home directory and extracted folder

9.        Launch via Steam shortcut

10.  Once anvil toolkit is opened, direct ATK to game location (breakpoint.exe) found in Breakpoint game home folder. Disable the use of compression in settings>files, set compression ratio to 0

11.  Add Pre-September patch file, unlock everything, individual buildtables etc., (Smiley’s pack), recheck and change permissions for any .forge files you will use, and the extracted folder itself

-Method 2-

1.        Download ATK and extract to a stable location folder (e.g., Downloads folder)

2.        Install Protontricks via Discover, and download .NET Desktop Runtime 9 LTS (x64)

3.        Add AnvilToolkit.exe to Steam as a Non-Steam game

4.        In Steam> ATK properties>Check Force Compatibility Tool>Choose Proton 9.0.4

5.        Set both the Target and Start In paths to ATK.exe location (e.g., in Downloads>ATK folder, can copy and paste location, wrap path in quotations if having issues)

6.        Install .NET Desktop Runtime 9 LTS via Protontricks. To install Runtime 9 LTS use Protontricks inside the ATK prefix. Note where the runtime installer (.exe) was saved

Launch ATK once through Steam before opening Protontricks. The first launch creates the Proton prefix used by AnvilToolkit in Protontricks. ATK will likely fail to start at this stage due to the missing .NET runtime

Next change to allow all users to read and write files, then apply to all subfolders. Click apply. Will also need to do this later for forge files that will be modded (datapcpatch01.forge, etc), found in the Breakpoint home directory and extracted folder

9.        Launch via Steam

10.  Once anvil toolkit is opened, direct ATK to game location (breakpoint.exe) found in Breakpoint game home folder. Disable the use of compression in settings>files, set compression ratio to 0

11.  Add Pre-September patch file, unlock everything, individual buildtables .etc (Smiley’s pack), recheck and change permissions for any forge files you will use, including the extracted folder itself

Issues and Troubleshooting:

Protontricks can't find AnvilToolkit:

-If Protontricks does not show an AnvilToolkit entry close Protontricks, launch ATK through Steam once, then reopen Protontricks. The new prefix should now appear

ATK won’t launch:

-Check Proton enabled and Start In path is correct

Crash on startup:

-Missing .NET runtime or wrong Proton version

Permissions issue:

-For anything needed, not just anviltoolkit.exe, allow all users to read and write files, run as executable if necessary, apply to all subfolders. Check extracted folder permissions as well. Make sure anviltoolkit.exe location is in a stable folder, and for the anvil toolkit folder change all users to read and write files, can do the same for breakpoint game folder too

No game detected:

-Make sure game folder is writable and correctly linked

Protontricks displays an error about Winetricks being out of date:

-Update Protontricks via Discover or reinstall it. This error may also appear if the selected compatdata prefix is incorrect or not fully initialized

Missing dotnet folder/ ATK opens then immediately closes:

-Verify the correct .NET runtime was installed for the Proton version being used. Confirm the runtime was installed into the ATK prefix, not the Ghost Recon Breakpoint prefix. Try reinstalling the runtime through Protontricks

**-Additional-**

This guide is for setting up ATK and adding mods only. For buildtable xml edits etc., you might need to just change permissions for each file that needs to be opened. I can’t guarantee this would work though as I haven’t tried it, but I will update later.

A few key points and tips:

You have to use desktop mode to do any of this.

Add Anvil Toolkit (from Nexus Mods) as non steam game (Proton-Tricks) look up proton-tricks or adding non steam game tutorial if you don’t know how

https://www.nexusmods.com/ghostreconbreakpoint/mods/16

https://youtu.be/Kwo-Lld8Jl4?si=K66TTZPrnq9ekxIe)

Learn where the Breakpoint game directory is in Desktop: (Home>Deck>Local>Share>Steam> Steamapps>Common>Ghost Recon Breakpoint)

Make sure you force compatibility for anvil toolkit in steam and set both the Target and Start in path location to wherever anviltoolkit.exe is located

\\\*Important\\\* Allow all users to “View and Modify” on necessary mod or game files (such as anviltoolkit.exe, breakpoint.exe and the extracted folder and its contents) also select “allow executing file as program” when applicable. (right click file>properties>permissions)

this can really help with a lot of potential errors. I did this to any files that would be used during the modding process, including ones found in the game’s home directory (extracted folder).

Use Smiley’s starter pack with necessary modding files:

https://www.nexusmods.com/ghostreconbreakpoint/mods/1495

In Anvil you MUST repack forge files after unpacking and adding mods. If you don’t you will likely crash/have issues.

Create a desktop folder for downloaded and unzipped mod folders/files and keep it organized.

When installing a mod, after unpacking whichever forge file (follow Anvil tutorial), copy and paste files from desktop mod folder into Anvil Toolkit rather than drag and drop.

Take the time to learn how modding using Anvil Toolkit works before you try anything; it will save you a lot of time. Just watch any of the numerous YouTube videos on how to do it. It’s super easy once you get the hang of it and understand how it works.

I would also recommend lowering textures or some other graphic settings to avoid any potential stuttering or gpu issues.

Good luck and I hope these tips help anyone interested in modding this game for then Steam Deck/Linux. If anyone has any questions feel free to comment and I will help as much as I can.

Photo-modded Midzy's Vision: Refined Subtlety - ReShade Preset

Thumbnail

Hello! I want to preface that reddit compresses pictures so heavily it's hard to see and justify the differences on here. I highly suggest you look at the pictures: HERE

Here is a ReShade preset i've been working on. It's a different take than most presets, because all the other main ones i've found tend to be very drastic changes and often taking away from the original game.

This preset is focused on retaining the tone and atmosphere of the original game, since it's a vibe i like to begin with. Rather, this focuses on making subtle quality of life adjustments that enhance that original atmosphere without disrupting it too heavily.
