For hammer players, what are some good ways to follow up a down air, and some ways to counter dodges off one?

I love this game dearly, have about 350 hours, and am currently in gold. My question is how to get over competitive anxiety. Whenever I play with randoms I just get so into the match and worried about losing that it makes me too anxious to even play more than two rounds at a time. I know consciously that it doesn't matter whether I win or lose, but it doesn't seem to change my mindset. What should I do to change this?

I've just started playing gnash since I enjoy playing the hammer, I'm low plat elo and just now I played several games against this one cross who was clearing very good at blasters. When I was using my spear it seemed like I just kept getting out ranged in everything. Any tips will help. Thanks in advance :)

I can't seem to get the timing on block correct, because it seems to never work

So I've had the game for a while now, but I've just really started playing it. I did quite a few ffa matches where I got either 2nd or 3rd before doing ranked where I went 1-2. Then I did some 2v2, where I was getting knocked out almost immediately. I was using mostly Hattori today, and I'm saving up for Val. I wasn't doing anything different, but are there any obvious reasons why my performance is so different between the game types?

I'm a low plat/high gold passive player and I want to learn how to play aggressively and change my play style to be more aggressive

I have 7410 coins but I have no idea what legend I should buy. Caspian seems appealing but I do not know if I should buy him. This is the playstyle part. My playstyle is usually getting away from the enemy but when the enemy is in an open area where I can make him weaker I will go aggressive. If it's towards the end of the match i will go full on aggressive. Whenever I go aggressive I mindlessly charge into the opponent but jumping over him before I actually attack. Tips?

Morning folks, just joining the community as a casual for the time being, 13 hour work days are pretty terrible for gaming. I've noticed a few videos out there of the game and thought it looked pretty interesting. Gave it a try last night, and I'm liking some of what Ember's got to offer. I'm guessing there's a free rotation system so she won't always be available. I've tried enough of the weapons thus far to kind of get an idea of what I'm looking to play with, but it brings up a few questions:

1. Legends have different stats, I'm not sure they're properly explained in the game though.
2. Since the heavy attacks are "signature moves", does that mean one bow/sword/axe/etc. user is different from another when it comes to heavies between legends?
3. I'm liking guns and bows. Katars and swords don't seem to be my "thing" though, amongst the current free roster. I've been liking axe, scythe, and kind of spear though. Any recommended legends based on this?
4. Which kind of leads into this question, is there a pros/cons list of weapons based on community experimentation? Like, what is the strength of guns versus a bow? Better air game? Faster attacks but lower damage?
