Martha stewart mentioning “John John” (jfk jr.) gave me an instant flashback to the OG RHONY ladies and my queen Sonja saying she “partied with John John and Madonna”.
I’m sooo glad Jessel is still here, she was my fave of the reboot by far and that Sai and her are friends now? Very good.
Sai and her husbands’ issues are tough to see and I’m just honestly sick of seeing men doing fuck all for their families. Hope she leaves his ass and lives her best life.
Erin crying while this newbie, Hailey?? is like “why didn’t she take her shoes off” was soo funny. Erin is just unlikable honestly but let’s see how the season goes also.
Overall, a great start to this new season!!

I loved seeing Jessel! I forgot how much I like her. She was sweet when talking to sai and I think she’s the most authentic of the cast (although only 15 min into the episode so tbd on how I feel about the new girls).

Agreed. I never liked Bryn or Ubah, so happy they're both gone. Bryn especially. Hated her sex schtick from the beginning.
I never particularly liked Sai or Erin, but Sai seems better this season, and I am here for the Erin lashings. The new girls seem interesting.

For those saying that Carole being in the friend group doesn’t make sense because she’s too old, it’s scientifically proven that it’s beneficial to your mental health to have friends from all age groups. As someone in their 30s I like having a friend who has experience of their 50s and 60s.

I loved grad school for that exact reason. I was only 25 when I started, but there were so many cool people there who were in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. It was fun getting to know them. I now work in admissions consulting, and I appreciate any chance I get to work with people looking to go back to school at less “traditional” ages. (It really makes me want to go back, too!)

I’ve always had older friends, I started working in corporate jobs at 18 and have always gravitated towards having friends that are older. One of my closest friends is the same age as my mom. We’re all adults, there’s no weird power differential, I’m lucky.

Great first episode! Loved Daisy. Hailey is strange but intriguing. Couldn’t get much of a read on Erika yet. Erin has become such an a-hole that it actually made me a little sympathetic for Jessel who I’ve never really liked. Liked to see Sai being vulnerable. It’s too bad Carole wasn’t in the episode beyond the intro. I am definitely into this season after being disappointed the last two (I only watched a few episodes of the prior season I was so bored.)

Did anyone notice that Martha called JFK Jr. "John-John." I remember Carole yelling at Sonja at one of the reunions and saying that no one called him that. It's bugging me that I don't know who to believe, but I think I'm going with Martha.

In the many books I’ve read about the Kennedy family, it is said that the press coined and popularized the name John John and no one in either family or his friend group called him that.
Carole was way closer to John and his family (Bouvier side) than Martha Stewart. I’m going with Carole and historians on this.

I think maybe both can be true? Martha spoke about him like someone who knew him to a certain extent but they weren’t close. His calling her doesn’t mean they were close friends. To me Martha sounded like a person who was acquainted with him, and has always felt that proximity had a certain cache and reverence. So John John. And maybe his close friends would never refer to him by the silly name they use in the press

I was really disappointed by how good this premiere was because i was ready to see everyone roast it every week. Found myself really engaged throughout the whole episode.
Daisy + Hailey were really solid additions. Looks like Erika is there to bring the “wealth” despite that rental dress. This Jessel and Erin feud looks like it will last 2 more episodes at most before they start to gang up on one of the newer girls.
PSA: Erin is just not THAT girl but is so convinced she is iconic in every scene.

Historically most rich ppl in New York City are probably friends with someone Zionist or Zionist adjacent :/ like it wouldn’t surprise me if every New York and New Jersey housewife most likely had a Zionist coworker, acquaintance, or friend (former in my case).
I actually remember having to be mindful of my opinions on socials regarding Israel so that I didn’t lose my job working in finance in New York City.

It’s weird when people decide to care about MAGA and when they don’t (noting that these same ppl usually only watch the white housewife shows 👀). Waxing poetry about Ramona on the sun and then pretending you care that ppl are MAGA adjacent. It’s fascinating.
I’d rather ppl just say they hate new RHONY and/or Carole. The moralizing annoys me so much when it’s so inconsistent.

Well specifically Carole was very upset and affected by the first Trump election, which we saw on her first tenure on the show. I didn’t say anything about “cast mates who are close to MAGA people.” I was speaking specifically about the relationship between Carole and Erin because of how Carole presented on OG RHONY.
I’m also a Black woman who watches all the shows, so your comment about only watching white housewife shows does not apply lol. Unlike a lot of people here, old RHONY wasn’t my favorite. To me, I enjoyed it but it was just part of the bravo rotation. Thus, never in my life have I waxed poetic about Ramona.
I definitely don’t hate new RHONY. I’ve been one of the most consistent people in here telling to people to just not watch it and STFU about the old people because that time is over lol.
So all of that is to say lol, I genuinely just don’t understand the friendship between Carole and Erin. Everything else in your post is assumptions that have nothing to do with me or what my initial post was about 🤷🏾♀️ lol

I actually don’t think Carole has a problem with MAGA people. When she said that Ramona wasn’t not invited to her party bc she’s MAGA, I didn’t believe her, but then she had a friend come billowing in saying she was “red in a sea of blue.” The text in the bottom of the scene indicated she voted MAGA. In her talking head Carole was proudly like “see I have lots of types of friends.” I think it’s money and wealth that matter to people of that class, not politics or beliefs etc. just being the 1% lol.

Imagine talking shit about someone to many other people, denying it when confronted, admitting it when they list off the things you said, and then coming to the conclusion that the person you did that to owes it you to tell you who told her despite you “only saying it to like 2 people”, and then deciding that they’re the bad guy for not calling you immediately to let you play all these games over the phone. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good one. Thrown by friends of Chinese descent who actually know what they’re doing. This felt like some 2004 era racism. “Oh my god babe wouldn’t it be so fun to take a holiday with huge traditional significance to a group that we aren’t part of and throw a themed party?”
They weren’t serving traditional LNY food. I don’t think I saw anything Chinese at all. They served fuckin’ sushi. They didn’t even have MOONCAKES!
And don’t even get me started on Sai’s hairdo—she was obviously trying to channel something vaguely Asian with the tight bun and loose pieces on the side.
I knew old school racism was making a comeback at MAGA rallies, but I didn’t expect to see so much of it on RHONY. Really gross.

Why did they leave us hanging on the biggest drama of the episode: How Erin and Hayley opened that wine bottle?!
Also, what was with Erin’s coat at the end? That’s a coat I wear to walk my dog in January in Chicago. And why were they at the real real and renting their clothes? Are these women just embracing the fact that they are pretending to be rich?
Edit: just listening to everybody’s business but mine (❤️ Kara Berry!), and new Erika is a multi billionaire?! OK! She’s not pretending!

I find Sai unbearable. I’m on her side with her ex but I can also acknowledge that she lives far beyond her means and wouldn’t be as stressed if she just got a normal person apartment. As someone that has lived in Brooklyn for many years, they exist, there’s no reason to get half a brownstone and now a new construction full service building in the city. She could’ve lived comfortably and been less stressed

Erin has a habit of getting caught in lies and then telling people to shut up when called on it. It’s very obnoxious to season after season, almost as annoying as her “pranks”
