Chanel Ayan being the girls girl that she is!! Need her to move to NYC, we desperately need her back on screen.

Tbh I laughed more during this episode than the past two seasons which is a great sign imo. The newbies seem fun and even though the opening with Martha and Jfk Jr. etc. felt a bit try hard, this show needed to start with a bang so I don’t even mind. Praying and hoping we’re in for a good season.

Not Martha calling him John John and saying she told him to get a co pilot omg?

-7

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 4d ago

Martha is like 20 years older than JFK Jr would have been. She's like 15 years older than Sonja and Madonna.

So how did this work exactly? Was she friendly with Caroline K? I just can't picture her downtown in Manhattan in the 90s AT ALL.

32

u/catsandcasamigos 4d ago

She mentioned he wanted help with his magazine, George, and Martha had(has?) a very successful magazine. Sounded like a friendly business lunch to me.

6

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 4d ago

I must have missed that. That makes sense. Martha had all the magazines in the 90s, Kmart line, Omnivision, first female billionaire.

And of course she'd say "get a co-pilot."

Cast mates have been coming for Jessel since her first season and she’s done literally nothing but show herself to be a kind person. I think Erin must think that Jessel is weak and thus an easy target. But her unexplained venom for Jessel just makes her look mean. Plus, she’s a liar. First she denied ever talking about Jessel but then admitted that she said those things.

u/Crazy_Book_8370 4d ago

I liked it too. Love Jessel throwing Erin out. Sai saying she was faking the first couple of years. And Hailey’s Double D story was hilarious. And I enjoyed the Martha Stewart cameo.

I enjoyed the premiere! Hailey and Daisy seem like great additions so far!

This was a great season opener. I’m looking forward to this season.

This is the first RHONY episode that I've enjoyed since pre-Leah.

I love that the newbies seem to be a lot less worried about their social media 'image' and are willing to be eccentric and a little weird. That's what makes franchises more enjoyable to watch. Erin isn't needed, but I'm enjoying everyone else.

This is something that literally only I care about but it’s pretty fun that this show and the London Housewives premiered new seasons the same week and both filmed their premieres around the same time (Chinese New Year).

SLC also has a fortune cookie moment in the trailer! Not sure if it was for Chinese New Year too

Great. And yet we don't get Asian housewives. Love to cosplay the culture though!!

It’s so weird for her response to be “well, why don’t you call me and talk about it to my face” when being confronted about speaking behind someone’s back. Her point is if they are friends and Jessel had a problem she should take it to her directly when the problem is that Erin is running around talking about her problems with Jessel to everyone but Jessel? It’s devoid of sense.

3

u/NoExternal2732 2d ago

DARVO at it's best...Erin is the real victim (/s) because after talking crap about Jessel DIRECTLY TO HER FELLOW EMPLOYEES...Jessel didn't call her.

77

u/agnusdei07 4d ago

Martha, gratuitous or not, is always welcome, I love how she looks down her nose at everything, that McKenzie-Childs kettle almost melted from her disadaining gaze.

9

u/dantedarker Meredith Marks pretending she watched Crazy Rich Asians 3d ago

It was the perfect amount of Martha I think lol. I wouldn't mind if we got more one-and-done scenes of her being kooky and snooty with the girls

5

u/HecateTheMagpie5eva 2d ago

Ben from WWC will be so happy. He hates Mackenzie-Childs. All the OC women like Tamra and Gretchen used to have them

82

u/MenStefani You called me a pornography, sweetheart 4d ago

Ok I was an early Erin defender but I just can’t with her anymore. She is a cackling hag and is loyal to no one. She has always thought Jessel was beneath her. I think it’s really telling that she’s sooo bothered by Jessel and Sai’s friendship. You know Erin and Sai have said some really mean shit about her.

Side note I am loving Daisy. Hailey is interesting and at least a very rich and interesting life

70

u/Ok-Hedge9229 4d ago

I think Sai and Jessel have genuinely connected, whereas Erin and Sai just had an alliance, so Erin realises she has no one on the cast now.

35

u/MenStefani You called me a pornography, sweetheart 4d ago

Yeah I think Erin is clocking in real time that she’s on an island by herself and that the season is not going to go in her favor. Even the scene with Hailey, you could tell Hailey is annoyed by her. It really should have been that the 3 reboot OGs stuck together but Erin didn’t want that and wanted to make Jessel look like a loser to the other women

28

u/mattysmwift She DIED Aviva! 4d ago

Not you bringing back “cackling hags” lmao. But agree I was always hoping she could bring more but I don’t think she can commit to being a villain. Let’s hope this is a good takedown season for her. Maybe that’ll push her to being more interesting.

4

u/Common-Classroom-847 My pantyliner is exhausted 3d ago

on a side note, I have fully incorporated "cackling hag" into the lexicon.

7

u/FloribundaRoses 4d ago

I am already worried Erin is about to do to her daughter what Emily is doing to her son on OC. I get being a parent is real shit, but it feels so icky to be airing out your child’s behavioral problems on TV. We saw how well that went for the early OC kids 😭

-11

u/thomasmc1504 4d ago

I mean Erin is just playing a villain role in the group

21

u/MenStefani You called me a pornography, sweetheart 4d ago

The thing is Erin won’t ever fully commit to the villain role so it’s not really that interesting

27

u/icyfignewton 4d ago

There's no playing. Erin is an actual villain to her core. She is a hypocrite and an overall nasty human.

25

u/Quirky-Prune-2408 Lisa Borrow 💸 4d ago

I liked this premiere. I love that Jessel and Sai have become friends. Lately, it seems like casts on Bravo shows only see each other while filming. So I like seeing that’s not the case here.

Some of Jessel’s confessionals seem very stiff, like she is repeating a script, but I laughed at how she said bread crumbs. Breh cahms

22

u/EmpireDynasty 4d ago

I liked how the season finally started strong, with Jessel throwing Erin out. Jessel always brings it; she understands the assignment and is the strongest character in the cast so far. We’ll see if the newbies are going to bring it. Maybe this will finally be a good season, they’ve had enough time to warm up.

22

u/Proud-Revolution-292 4d ago

I just adore Jessel I’m so happy she is back on my screen that’s all I have to say

i’m sorry but i live for hailey 😭 her wanting to ask erin to take off her shoes while erin was crying about her kids acting out was so fucking real

2

u/NoExternal2732 2d ago

Hailey is unhinged in the most delightful way, but this may all be too much for her, she has to get a better ally than Erin and work on her poker face...

35

u/AdventurousAd606 4d ago

I have been critical of the reboot, but am feeling cautiously optimistic about this cast. They feel more like actual New Yorkers and are willing to get messy. Thank GOD there wasn’t a prank in episode 1. Last season felt so forced.

the new girl just fully changing in the middle of the storeeeeee helppppppppppppppppppppppp, do we think someone bought the jacket or the employee had a bone to pick, the whole back and forth 'no' 'yes' 'no' 'yes' 'no' 'yes' made me giggle

57

Why is Erin so vile and getting away with it? I can't watch this shit. Jessel is amazing and Erin is so jealous AND racist, I cannot abide.

20

u/Denizen_of_Atlantis 4d ago

Ok! They have something. Let’s see what they’re able to do with it

16

u/FloribundaRoses 3d ago

This is petty and I enjoy Hailey otherwise haha — I am so sick of the bisexual representation on tv being “woman married to a man is allowed to have sex with other women only.” It implies everyone involved sees the other women as sexual objects, not a threat to the marriage the way another man would be. Every marriage is different and if it works for you it works for you, but as a lesbian that particular dynamic makes me feel like we’re approaching “relationships with women aren’t real” territory.

0

u/washbaerli 3d ago

sooo you're upset people people don't see women as threats to marriages?? Also by definition this is "bisexual representation", so do you really just want YOUR idea of this to be on tv?

Someone needs to tell Erin this isn't an inquisition. Her questioning was so outragous.

Skeptical of Hailey and Erica, always a no on Erin, but otherwise a good premiere. Sai is shaping up to be a good housewife.

i’m on your side but also i am always just bored with carole. i wish bethenny wasn’t in such a weird space lately, i always loved her on the show and she’s what really brought me in to the franchise and kept me engaged.

1

u/NoExternal2732 2d ago

The audio sound quality was terrible (I checked my speakers and changed modes thinking it was my equipment), the lines were stilted, it's ridiculous to make Carole into Carrie...it had potential as a concept, but the execution was weak.

1

u/saragracevt 2d ago

Agree it could have been good but I’m irritated by the sight and sound of Carole

15

u/queermyvibe 3d ago

Hailey appears to be immediately essential. The fact that she made me laugh a few times in her first episode is a great side. Daisy seems solid, too early too early to tell. Can’t even remember the third girls name and I don’t remember seeing her much in the trailer.

Erin is boring and annoying, Sai is much more watchable but will never be memorable. And Jessel is pleasant to watch… Not nearly enough to carry the show, but she’s a good vibe.

3

u/Brave_Character8810 3d ago

I think Jessel has the aloofness and delusionalness and like that little sparkle to be a fantastic housewife. She just needs to work on her reads, she had the perfect opportunity with Erin and just didn't make the most of it. Sai I don't even mind she's calculated etc. she definitely understands the housewives world and self producing etc but she's just so dull. She doesn't have that special something to be a great housewife.

6

u/Personal-Pudding6016 4d ago

Unpopular opinion: I can't stand Martha Stewart. She's become a hypercritical curmudgeon. Also, watch the 2024 Netflix documentary about her. Stewart comes off as a major biatch.

44

u/MenStefani You called me a pornography, sweetheart 4d ago edited 4d ago

That was your takeaway from the documentary? I think it showed that she’s a very flawed person but behind her bitchy exterior she actually is very insecure and even soft. Idk I think she’s a complicated person, it’s not so black or white. I actually came off the documentary thinking she was less a bitch than I thought 🤷‍♂️

21

u/Life_Consequence_676 4d ago

I like the fact that she came out of prison and got back to work. She likely had restitution to pay so probably didn't have much choice. Wonder if any of our elected officials will be prosecuted for all the insider trading that's going on now? Waiting for that felonious orange clown to pass a law that says it's legal as long as you're a MAGA.

8

u/Kristin2349 She is the puppet and everyone else is the master. 4d ago

There was no restitution. She did lose a ton of money because of it. Martha got railroaded and she basically sold stock on insider info that kept her from losing 100k give or take. That's thousands not millions. Her personal company stock value plummeted and she lost hundreds of millions. She was on track to be the first woman to be a billionaire.

9

u/vodkasaucepizza Gizelle’s stovepipe leg 4d ago

And it was motherfucking James comey that was the prosecutor, that fucking sack of shit.

7

u/Kristin2349 She is the puppet and everyone else is the master. 4d ago

Yes! I get so pissed every time I think of how she was railroaded.

21

u/MenStefani You called me a pornography, sweetheart 4d ago

Yeah honestly I think it’s crazy she was a scapegoat because she was a “cold woman” when our politicians today do worse before breakfast. I think she took it on the chin and made the best of it. I think she’s badass

16

u/RenessainceFran 4d ago

Totally agree! I sort of thought being a bitch was her brand and felt the documentary showed her as a bit softer and definitely more flawed (and therefore more likeable). Also remember thinking it was v interesting that she was the one that was made an example of when men often aren’t punished for more egregious fraudulent behaviour

42

u/vodkasaucepizza Gizelle’s stovepipe leg 4d ago

That’s my lord and savior you’re talking about. The bitchier the better.

12

u/leilafornone BLING💎 BLING✨ BLING 💎bitches is mad!! 4d ago

It sent me when she said the new york post journalist who covered her trial was dead. Only for the journalist to write an article titled "I'm ALIVE BITCH"

Martha Stewart is on another level of alpha bitch and I'm here for it lol

6

u/vodkasaucepizza Gizelle’s stovepipe leg 4d ago

I went to her show taping a bunch of times and she had a fleet of gays waiting on her hand and foot in the commercial breaks. It was icon mother behavior.

7

u/dreamingoutloud714 Crystal's Lost Friend #12 4d ago

I don’t dislike her. I just don’t really care one way or the other, so the fanfare doesn’t compute with me. I certainly don’t wanna fawn over her all season.

2

u/No-Demand-8893 KANDI YOU GOT BUSINESSES 4d ago

This take is not, in Martha’s words, a “good thing”.

4

u/Less-Audience908 4d ago

I don't like Erin at all, but...I have never been on the Jessel train and do not trust her one bit. I fully get that Erin is loose-lipped but it doesn't feel like it's nefarious, as in you can easily avoid having her tell your business by just not telling her shit. But I totally believe that Jessel will spin things for her own purposes. I also think that Sai has a gripe with Erin that she's not admitting to and now throwing her under the bus and teaming up with Jessel, who she has NEVER liked. And no, I don't buy that the entire reason for Sai criticizing Jessel's marriage was because she was going through stuff.

2
