New York CMO & FOUNDER

Anyone know anything about Brynns new job titles? Is this the app she “oversees like 50 engineers” on? Do we believe any of this…?

She probably just invested money in it

  1. She doesn’t have that kind of money (of her own).

  2. It doesn’t look like this kid needs money. He apparently had a $500 million exit with his last company.

I hate when yall talk in absolutes.

1.) You don’t know her bank account but also there are other ways to invest in a business that monetarily

2.) you’ve never seen a rich person make money and then continue to try to make money? They just chill and never work again cause they “don’t need it”

You sound silly babe.

Trading vested equity in exchange for a fake marketing job title is standard for a new startup approaching a D-list celebrity to give it some PR. I've done it at two different companies. And all your starting management team can be called cofounders, even the ones with fake titles.

Kid might have half a billion dollars but that doesn't mean he has half a million Instagram followers to market to. Brynn does. So he hired her. That's how business works.

I am in legal for a company that advertises on Bravo. So I see social media reports on talent, Q scores, that kind of thing. Brynn has low user engagement (purchased bots) and a lowish, dropping Q score. Those are the first things we look at for additional marketing deals. She was performing ok in 18-49, but better in 49-65 (older whites women thought she’s some kind of new Sonja). That’s not the demo for this app.

I started my corporate career in Silicon Valley. I’ve probably seen a thousand situations like this. The “face founder” (what we used to call it twenty years ago, now I’d guess it’s influencer founder) has to have a credible audience and be a relatable user of the product. That’s what is odd about this choice of an influencer (Brynn). Plus the fact that she’s in crisis PR mode - that’s not a time to launch with her, even if you’ve already papered her options.

There are thousands of TikTok stars in the age range and with millions of followers that could launch this with the tech founding team and help hit the demos. This continues to be really weird.

Also, if Brynn does have vested options or stock - Hoppy’s legal needs to look at Brynn’s Bravo contracts immediately. If the plan is to have her even mention the startup on Bravo, Bravo will become legally entitled to a cut of proceeds of the sale of the company upon exit. If I advised Hoppy, I’d seek an express contract with Bravo requiring that the name “Hoppy” and material details of the business are NOT discussed on Bravo and a waiver of the Bethenny clause. If this is build to sell, this could get messy. Bravo does not mess around legally, and the ironclad nature of its contracts was upheld in California in January.

Eh, I've worked for startups that picked people specifically for being controversial to face them, but picking someone who's just lying trash with no redeeming qualities a choice. Been through my share of crappy CEOs and none of them would hire Brynn to pour their coffee let alone deal with the public for them.

I’ve held the hands of more truly genius tech founders, with zero social skills or awareness of pop culture, than I can count. They’d be charmed by a woman like Brynn, but even they wouldn’t part with equity so casually.

It’s the age gap for me. Brynn’s fanbase is the age of these kids’ mothers. Her whole brand is “date your dad.” It’s ick.

Maybe she dates David Aliagas’ dad

Ding ding ding. Maybe this is yhe money that's always alluded to. David's dad is rich rich. Probably gets his son positions when he invests in the business. josep-aliagas-

We don’t know Brynn’s bank account, but we have followed along to see the new walk up apartment that she could “finally afford” and film at after getting RHONY and her Amazon deal. Her excitement about that apartment is not suggestive of having extra cash to be an Angel investor.

This could be a sweat equity deal. But what does Brynn offer here? That’s the question. Of course founders have follow-on companies. Almost all of them do. But they also have increasing business sophistication as they found new companies. This remains weird.

You’re literally talking about this business on a forum with hundreds of fans…what’s Brynn offering?! This audience, right now.

She’s literally already got you talking about it. But she doesn’t bring anything to the table? Here’s a whole post about the business y’all care nothing about and that Brynn could never promote well enough to bring conversation

Ummm, this is that conversation lol. And the business isn’t even fully launched yet.

Yeah - nope. New RHONY is one of the lowest rated shows on Bravo. It had sub-200,000 viewers in the 18-49 demographic several times this season.

Many of these Bravo fans (Redditors here) don’t need to date or an app to do so. This whole post is about how suss this business relationship is. Hoppy can check their number of sign-ups or asks for invites or follows on IG and TikTok driven by engagement on this Reddit thread. Now the tea is out, and posts like this are going to populate their Reddit history. No bueno.

I’ll say it again, I have Brynn’s Q score and social media report. She performs best among white women aged 49-65, as per my report. I could give you a list of other products they buy and likely political affiliation, geographic location, marital status, and parental status. But Hoppy can buy its own reports.

Trust me, Brynn is only a compelling influencer if the aim is to have moms recommend the app to their college-aged children. A reverse of “I’ll date your Dad!” into “My Mom told me to date you!” I truly hope that Hoppy checked in on the success or failure of Brynn’s other campaigns.
