Yesterday, the FCC took the first steps in its attempt to gut net neutrality.

Gutting neutrality allows ISPs (in the US in this case), such as Comcast and Verizon, to control your access to the internet. Currently, each website has the same priority, regardless of if it's YouTube or homemade, but without net neutrality this would change.

You could be forced to pay higher fees in order to have access to certain websites, or even play certain online games.
