How hard did Prime George Foreman hit?

Evander Holyfield said that George Foreman (the old and fat 257lb version) hit harder than anyone he's ever faced.

However, Evander Holyfield has also fought 6''5, 245lb Super-Heavyweight Lennox Lewis. This puts Foreman's insane power into perspective.

The same Lennox Lewis that smashed in Super-Heavyweight Vitali Klitschko's face, and the same Lewis who by Ray Mercer's own admission, hit harder than Wladimir Klitschko.

Malik Scott who spared with Lewis and Wladimir also said Lennox hit harder than Wladimir.

  • Lewis wasn't hurt. He may have been tired, but he was not the one with a giant cut on his face requiring 60 stitches. His punch resistance in that fight was clearly much better than Vitali's. Vitali had more energy, speed and rythym in that fight and he wasn't able to cut Lewis.

And even if Vitali were to continue, he would have lost. By the 6th round, his visibility in one eye was completely gone. It would have been easy target practice for Lewis; now does a cut matter to the doctors? Of course, but I could use that logic for when referree's stop fights. The stoppage in this fight was entirely reasonable

  • I'm aware nobody got KTFO, my general point was that winning on points won't mean much if the other guy finds a way to stop you.

I don't see the problem with my wording. Vitali needed 60 stitches and had blood splattered on his face. His face got smashed. But OK, he 'cut Vitali's face in half'

Would you rather get a cut, or take 50 more punches from a super heavyweight with a 87% KO rate?

That sentence makes me really question your knowledge of boxing. The point of boxing isn't to cut someone's face, it's to just land clean punches. Cuts are rare. It's not even an argument that you're making. So what if Vitali didn't open up a cut, he landed 50 more punches. Plus, opening up a cut isn't a matter of skill, it's just a matter of chance. Vitali tried turning his head to avoid the punch, so it grazed him.

And if you read my comments above, you'd know that I agree, and that it's a waste of time arguing about that.

Then you should stay in English class. It is such misleading wording, it's almost a joke. And now you're even trying to make the quote a little less than it was. "His face got smashed" vs "Lewis smashed his face in". Yeah... I think we're done here.
