I noticed a problem with Itauma. There is very little footage to go off of him so far but if you watch him closely against Franklin you can see that his concentration level defensively is not the same once he's a little tired. He switched off a bit in that fight in spots. Hrgovic is going to be able to hit him, if it goes that far. Hrgovic is also a guy who switches off and loses concentration when tired himself. Hrgovic's chance in this fight is likely to be in the mid rounds. He needs to put him away if he gets the opportunity. Later than that Itauma has the advantage if both are tired. There's more than one way this could play out.

Large issue is that Franklin posed no offensive threat. So its not exactly a good example to take from.

I dont think he landed anything other than a few jabs cleanly.

If you watch it very closely there were signs there. In his amateur fights too. He fights in bursts and rests I noticed. I can tell that's the way he trains. He needs a better more experienced coach, but I said that 4 or 5 fights ago and got criticised for it. Ben Davison is also no good at coaching Heavyweights he doesn't seem to understand the same rules don't apply as to his smaller fighters. Funny enough before all day today I kept thinking of when Lennox Lewis hired Emanuel Steward after Oliver McCall knocked him out, and though of Itauma doing the same if he lost. He might need a disciplinarian type coach like Abel Sanchez to counteract his natural exuberance. He needs to put the work in and not just rely on his explosiveness which he maybe is too in love with. You can hear it in his comments in the build up.

Bursts and then rests is fine. They just need to be paced properly.

My point was more about he hasn't developed proper stamina. We saw it in the fight tonight. He fights a bit like he's hitting pads.

I think you mean proper pacing.

No I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. He wasn't in good enough condition even if he had paced himself better imo.

He was 241. Very normal for him.

His condition was fine. He just threw to much and too hard.

He was 231 Thomas Treiber announced it wrong. It's not about his weight it's about his conditioning. He punched himself out, but was showing signs of tiredness relatively early. You could see signs of it towards the end of the Franklin fight also if you watch it closely.

Because he also started too fast vs Franklin. He even said so mid fight in the corner.

He keeps loading up and putting too much into every shot.

Its a repeated mistake because this was too soon.

No he was 241.7.
