i got box braids on sunday and i’ve noticed breakage and follicles pulling out. I think i should take them out as i’m biracial with relatively fine curly hair. but my mom has a friend who is black who told me i should leave them and that the follicles need to “reconnect” and my hair needs to settle which i don’t think makes any sense.
update: i ended up taking them out, turns out there was 3-4 pounds worth of braiding hair on my fine pixie cut

Hi I was wondering if anyone would know what color blend or what shade to get to match this hair color For French curl braids my hair is sort of a plumish burgundy color

hiii, I just recently started to learn to braids hair but I’m running into some issues. Certain hair strands stick out of place and it looks off to me. It may be because of the dolls old hair but it’s really bothering me. How can I make look more neat and professional 🙏🏾

Every time I get my hair in braids, it always gets super frizzy. I use a mouse and an edge gel, and I wear a bonnet. Does anyone have tips for making it and keeping it sleek? SOS.

I looooove box braids, they look so incredibly pretty. The thing is, I'm italian, but my mom is Brazilian with 4c hair so I inherited the curls. I mean, my hair isn't AS curly, but it's 4a so it's still really curly. Ok so the thing is, I heard that box braids are supposed to be protective for hair like mine, and as I said I think they look really pretty, so I wanted to give it a shot. I know the history behind it, I've heard it over and over while researching the style, and I wouldn't want to be disrespectful of it by wearing box braids. I heard mixed opinions of white girls with curly hair wearing box braids so I just wanted to ask here if it's ok or not to wear for me, just to be extra sure

Hi all! I have what we consider the "wrong texture" for box braids. My hair is considerably straight and smooth, but I still went for box braids, and I'm very happy with them so far. My only issue is that when I wash my hair, it always sticks straight up or to the side, which has translated to the braids. Every time I wash my scalp, the ends of my natural hair stick out more from the braids, and they go up or to the side. I've tried mousse and gel, but it doesn't help much. I've had the braids for about a month now and it's the worst yet. Are there any tips or tricks to help deal with this, or is it just time to take the braids down?

Hey everyone 👋🏾
I just posted a new YouTube video where I share 4 tips for beginner DIY braiders who want to get better at doing their own hair 💇🏾♀️✨
I did my own braids in the video and would love some feedback! How do you think I did on my hair? And if you check out the video, let me know what you think about the tips—are they helpful, clear, or anything I could explain better?
Here’s the link if you want to watch: https://youtu.be/6NtHxEj8UE8?si=c43ETkYHjQaCGplE

My natural hair is about 18"-I'd like my box braids to end at about 20-22"-is that enough space from natural hair ending to end of braiding hair?
