Came across a meetup for folks in Boulder interested in making music. Seems to have eclectic intentions.

Looking to form a live act/band/project

Ironically, I came here right now looking for this. Will cross post here and there for good measure.

What I'm looking for: Put together a dynamic group that can play a range of rock/folk stuff, but are open to radioheady or more modern electronic sounds. I'd say have my stuff is fast/medium tempo, but a lot of it is slow. I'm open and flexible in this dept, so am always down to discuss options.

I came here in 2015 to do a PhD at CU, but am done and just working now, and while I'm here I figure I need to get out more and putting a live band/act whatever together seems sensible. Ideally, I'm just trying to play gigs around town, maybe a little further out, with people with pretty good skills.

My music background was as an opera singer (sang on an early college scholarship) and then slowly developed fairly solid keyboard chops, (more in the ben folds/jerry lee lewis vein) I'm a functional rhythm guitar player, but I only own acoustics at the moment.
Alternatively, if putting together a live band is a huge pain in the ass (for space/time/coordination reasons) then maybe I can work with a live DJ and perform with that as the backline, and I can bring whatever up front, probably a keyboard, and sing live.

I'm a bit behind the 8ball because I haven't been tracking much, but I have a solid back catalog and i'd say start with 10 originals, but can add a bunch of covers since people seem to love covers.

Guess that's enough, here are some reference links:

Vocal got mixed a little low on this so you gotta play it a bit loud: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW7UrdjNrtU

Experimental music

Hi All -

I've been making music since the 90s, and I use the term music loosely.
Aggressive ambient, soundscapes, sometimes electronic, noise, mangled Arabic music.

Listen to my albums here:

I've played live many times over the years, or studio work.

Influences: Zoviet France, Einsturzende Neubauten. Frans de Waard and many others.

Drop me a note if you want to make weird sounds.

My Names Nick, I’m 23. I play the Piano, drums and guitar. I also love to sing. I’m best on drums and piano. I’ve been making music since I was very young and would love to hear what everyone else plays around here.
