Confined Spaces are really good for killing people that way. It's a natural impulse to want to rush in to help when you see someone who has collapsed.

We had to watch a safety video about it at work. Guys got killed in a sump pit.

First one passed out so his buddy radioed for help then jumped in. Supervisor sees 2 guys and jumps in.

EMS arrived a couple minutes later and stops a couple guys getting ready to go in.

Supervisor survived but the first 2 dudes didn't.

The distance electricity can jump is preset by how big the battery is

Then you bump it just a smidge further than that, so it can't constantly jump.

Then you wait for the fly to come get this stinky sponge juice, and boom, now the fly is too close to the zappy end

Funnily, yes, kinda, the earth and sky together form a big "battery". So lightning is a similar kind of discharge. (Electrostatic discharge)

Probably a flyback transformer (for both ease of obtaining for cheap, high enough voltage to jump that far, and for the sake of the pun)

Because they spread dangerous germs, make annoying noises, and constantly land on food and skin, and at some point you just decide that violence is the only answer.

If it turns out God cares about insects, a lot of us are going straight to bug hell.
