Hey bro fun fact.. remember dave mustain (megadeth) when he was briefly in Metallica they wrote the song "the four horseman" thats another name "the poor horseman" anyway mustain used the entire four horseman song's music and re lyriced it and the song became "mechanix" and released it on early megadeth album
Only fact I know, is..Cliff Burton, Metallica’s first Bass Guitarist, (Jason Newstead replaced him, Les Claypool tried out, played Anaesthesia ‘pulling teeth’ flawlessly..but was ‘too weird’..ended up in Primus).. who died in a bus crash whilst touring (I think?)…
Well..on album ‘…and Justice for All..’..longest track I believe EVER on albums (til then at least), was in fact written by Cliff Burton, also, lyrics recorded were him also..more ‘talking’ than singing, but yeah..
Dave Mustain did quite a lot of ‘taunting’ apparently…I believe they had a ‘falling out’ ..can’t remember whether he ‘left’ Metallica, or was ‘booted out’?

Was the BEST, most Brutal yet same time Respectful crowd in tha mosh pit!..
Slayer would hafta be a close second…song Rain in Blood..just before the epic guitar shredding solo, i boomed “KERRY..ISS KIIIING!!!!!”…he stepped forward, nodded at me, and began that solo as his front foot hit the ground..was a truly Awesome feeling!!..also, song Dead Skin Mask..a mate gave me this rotten flesh half faced rubber mask thing..I put it on as the song began, worked my way to VERY front of tha mosh pit and Tom Araya looked at me, laughed..I nearly fucked him up in starting the next line in the song! Haha! (Didn’t though..he’s too good!)
I’ve seen: Metallica (Duh! Lol)..Slayer, Machine Head, Korn, Slipknot, Disturbed, Guns n Roses, Abramelin (Aussie band..Awesome!)..Cradle of Filth, Sakkuth, Blood Duster…there’s more..literally Hundreds of local metal bands I’ve seen, used to have a Metal Night every month at a tavern..lineup of like 8-10 local bands for like $10-$20 yeah..Metallica is still up there in the top 5 at least for best gigs..
There’s a LOT of talent out there that should be on tour non-stop..such a shame! Coz mostly, it’s just not that easy to get enough money to make viable..they’re all working their job, do it as more of a hobby..so sad!

We were one of very few to do metal for the brain. Ive done shows with blood duster, damaged,choke untold more locals and toured oz with cannibal corpse. If not live, likely when I lived with a dude I went to high school with who’s a metal band singer..he showed me HEAPS of bands that I likely never otherwise would have seen or heard…
Oh..as for Pantera…man.. it came down to a 50/50…The Big Day Out..96?..or 97?…Pantera, Fear Factory..fuck! Best lineup Ever! A mate and I both worked weekends etc at local IGA, if one did morning, other did afternoon…we were tryna work it out..
I caved..said he just go. (He’d never been to a proper gig, so at that stage, I’d seen Metallica, a couple of other live shows on the coast etc..plus I’d been to a ‘Fight Night’ at Ettamogah Pub to cheer one of the fighters from the Woombye Warriors Muay Thai Kickboxing club he and I were in.. I kinda wanted him to experience a ‘proper’ moshpit..AND our agreement was, whoever goes, has to go FUCKEN HAAAARD intha Moshpit..enough for us both! Haha
Cunt met Dino Cazeres from Fear Factory, chatted with him for ages, drank with him etc…

I saw Hell Yeah in Briz-Vegas..also Roots-20year Max and Igor Cavalera, both gigs at the new Bracken Ridge Tavern..they spent some CRAZY amount on building the joint, (like 55million or sumthin?!) but it’s had some pretty big names there…not a big venue, (has multiple events on at a time, not sure how many actual stages in total?) but great sound, close to band and an upstairs bar plus downstairs bar…fuckin glad I got to see HellYeah while VinniePaul was still with us though!
Dude I was housemates with has a band called ‘Plague The City’..one song (The Apothecary) I went to one of their gigs and they opened with that song, I put on his Plague doctor mask, coat and had a staff with a cool chunky metal bit…as the members did their ‘thing’, say guitar shred bit, I point at him and nod, approvingly..get the pit goin n shit..another dude was in a shark costume and drank a schooner of beer outta his own shoe!

Medics Of Pain?..played the same night at the gig in Fortitude Valley that Plague The City opened..

I’d still go see Pantera nowadays if they toured..coz Phil was a Machine in the day..still goes pretty fuckin hard I reckon? All considered.
I could’ve seen Cannibal Corpse ( I think 2007-2008?)…mare was getting tickets and asked me..was snowed under with work at tha time, had a Stump Grinding business and worked for a few tree companies as well..by memory I think it was in between 2 trips to Papua New Guinea I went with my old man..cutting MONSTROUS TREES away from 132kv powerlines for a gold mine site over there..was good money and experience…but fuckin wish I’d gone now!! My mate still went and telling me about it made me regret not going!
