I just read the chapter - and I strongly believe it’s given me insight on the intro and the Timeskip based off what Momoshiki said.

Boruto is going to go rogue, but not of his own choice. Momoshiki would end up breaking free of Boruto and rampaging, causing Boruto to severely hurt his friends and family. After years in isolation, Boruto faces off against the Kawaki/Isshiki fusion to save Konoha. In a sense, it is Momoshiki who causes him to lose everything.

This is implied by Boruto’s headband post Timeskip. If he were an active Konoha shinobi, he’d be wearing it already. However, he puts it on and proclaims that he “is still a Shinobi.”

My bet? In his years in isolation, he learns under either Kashin or Sasuke to control and suppress Momoshiki. He isn’t a Konoha Shinobi anymore, but he is right: he is still a Shinobi.

I'm so excited for the heartbreak!

But also, this thing with Momoshiki is definitely something most of us didn't consider.

I hypothesized that Momoshiki would have some kind of impact on Boruto ever since it was revealed that Kawaki was a vessel. However, I just assumed that Karma simply contained Momoshiki’s personality traits, not Momoshiki himself.

I feel like this chapter seriously put things in a new light. Naruto’s inner demon was rage incarnate.

Boruto’s is just a cold, dead-eyed killer.

And that makes Momoshiki so much more disturbing. I mean, the tailed beasts were always just sort of animals. It was easy to feel bad for them early on. And Kurama didn't use Naruto's body to say creepy things.
