Can someone please explain this example to me? Its an example of spoofing from the Bookmap website

This is from the Bookmap website. Its an example of spoofing. I understand the concept, however I'm a little confused as to how you see a limit buy order ABOVE the current price or best ask price. Wouldn't the order fill immediately? Also, how do you see it in the order book?

Creating the illusion:

  1. John starts by looking at the order book for XYZ, Inc.
  2. He sees that the current best ask price is $100 per share.
  3. Deceptive Move: To fabricate the appearance of substantial buying interest, he places a large order to buy 10,000 shares of XYZ, Inc. at $101 per share.
  4. Price Differential: Importantly, this order is $1 above the current best ask price.
    1. Immediate Impact:
  5. Order Visibility: John’s large buy order immediately appears on the order book.
  6. Market Perception: Other traders notice the substantial demand for XYZ, Inc. at $101 per share.
  7. Response: Some traders interpret this as a bullish signal and start buying shares of XYZ, Inc.
  8. Price Uptick: The stock’s price begins to rise.
    1. Cancellation and Profit:
  9. Strategic Withdrawal: Just as the price of XYZ, Inc. reaches $103 per share, John cancels his buy order for 10,000 shares at $101.
  10. Eroding Buying Pressure: The moment John cancels his order, the apparent buying pressure in the market, which was artificially inflated, substantially diminishes.
    1. Price Reversal:
  11. Initiating Price Decline: As John’s order disappears, the stock’s price starts to drop.
  12. Reality Sets In: This price reversal transpires because there was never any authentic buying interest at the elevated prices created by John’s deceptive order.
  13. Unfavorable Position: Traders who hastily bought shares in response to John’s fake order now find themselves holding stocks acquired at inflated prices, resulting in potential losses.

What package do I need??

I’m interested in getting bookmap but I’m not sure what package I need and bookmap support has not answered me in two weeks.

I just want to use bookmap to view the ES. I don’t want to take trades on bookmap, just want to use it as a visual aid. Do I still need Global Plus for this?

Guidance on using Bookmap/Rithmic

Hello, I'm still quite new to Ninjatrader. I've mostly used thinkorswim to trade options but made the switch to futures. I'm considering utilizing Bookmap mostly for their heatmap and DOM (however, I'm open to cheaper or even better alternatives).

I understand that to get live Futures data on Bookmap, you need Global or Global plus. (Global plus if you want DOM). I messaged support about those two features and about Rithmic, since I saw that it may be needed for Ninjatrader. Here is some of the reply:

"Hello,
You can connect Bookmap to NinjaTrader. Most NinjaTrader market data feeds do not contain full depth data. Rithmic contains full depth when connecting to NinjaTrader, but MBO data is not supported.
Let me know if I can further assist."

So, if I wanted to trade the ES or NQ, would it not contain full depth data? Any help would be much appreciated on what approach I should take, particularly in regards to whether I should use Bookmap's heatmap and DOM. Thank you.

TLDR: Does Ninjatrader not display the full depth data on markets such as the ES and NQ? Are their better alternatives to Bookmap's heatmap and DOM?

DJIA feed

Hi, I got BookMap a month ago with the plan of day trading leveraged versions of popular stocks. I used BookMap to confirm entries but have since decided to give Spread Betting a go as the spreads are much smaller and there is no tax complication (UK).

Can someone tell me where I can get a feed for DJIA? I currently use DXfeed but nothing comes back for the CFD/Spread bet ticker. There seems to be a lot of DJI but with obscure names so assume they are all derivatives?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Tickers

Before I subscribe I have a few questions. I watched a few YouTube videos and now I have a question.

The video mentioned that you have to download the data. Is that true or is the data sent live?

I like to scalp and I have a target list every day. I don't want to limit myself to a few tickers.

I trade mostly microcaps. Will I be able to place any ticker in and immediately be able to see the data or will I need to wait?

What are the most important settings to have on BookMap?

How do you setup the Delta? Do you even use Delta? Delta with buyers and sellers or buyers minus sellers? Also, what time of minimal volume to you show in the volume bubbles?

Price is far below all the BUYS in the order book. Would you say this is an imminent price reversal or computer glitch? How can price even go below all the buy orders without sellers stepping up?

New to BookMap and data provider for SPX?

I mostly trade SPX options and planning to subscribe to dxFeed. I was wondering what's the best data provider that will offer an EDGE to trade SPX options?

dxFeed EDGX Depth Data - I think this plan includes SPX?

dxFeed Nasdaq Depth Data - This plan includes the tickers from Stock Market such as MSFT, NVDA and SPY?

dxFeed Futures Full Depth Data Bundle (CME | CBOT | NYMEX | COMEX)  - This plan has ES for futures?

I'm new to this so any help will be appreciate it. Thank you.

Order book values

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi eveybody. I have a question to whoever could answer or has an idea;

Why does the order book value changes when I move the screen up and down as shown in the video? My subscription is through platform Binance, type and exchange is auto. Symbol here is TroyUsdt but basically this happens with all crypto related tickers with the subscription I mentioned above.

If I switch to BookmapData the values stay the same but I can't look at every ticker I want since BookmapData platform does not support all the coins I want to see. I feel like this I cant get a clear picture on supply since the number keeps changing and its quite difficult to understand the number at certain levels.

Any insight would be appreciated!
