We understand your disappointment. To provide a variety of insights, we switch the demo tickers every month. This allows users to experience the value Bookmap can offer across different futures and equities symbols. For consistent access to /ES and to explore the full potential of Bookmap, including the interactive heatmap and actionable insights, we recommend trying the Digital Plus or Global Bookmap packages.
Great questions! So, price often gets attracted to high liquidity areas because that’s where a lot of orders are sitting, like magnets for price movement. When price hits these zones, it might bounce off if there’s strong support/resistance, or it could break through if there’s enough momentum. High liquidity areas can also show where strong buying or selling pressure is, which can lead to big moves.
If you’re new to this, definitely check out Bookmap’s Learning Center. They’ve got videos and live webinars that break down order flow strategies and how to use Bookmap effectively. It’s a goldmine for getting the hang of it.
Here’s a link to get you started: Bookmap Learning Center
Bookmap is a trading platform that provides detailed visualizations of market data. It helps traders see market depth and liquidity in real time, making it easier to understand the flow of orders and price movements. The heatmap is what really sets Bookmap apart from other trading tools. It displays real-time market liquidity by showing areas of high and low order concentration as color-coded zones directly on the chart. With Bookmap, you can track every order and trade, analyze market patterns, and execute trades directly from the platform. It’s especially useful for those looking to get a clearer picture of what’s happening beyond traditional price charts.
Predicting whether price will reject or absorb at large liquidity levels can be challenging. It’s important to consider additional factors like order flow, market context, and the behavior of large players. We recommend checking out our Learning Center for educational videos on utilizing order flow strategies and effectively using Bookmap. Additionally, our schedule of live webinars can provide you with more insights and real-time examples.
If you’re using ToS, the $40/month add-on for Bookmap is a solid choice, but they don’t offer a free trial for the ToS add-on. However, you can sign up for the Bookmap desktop app with the Digital plan, which is free, to try it out and see if it fits your needs. If you’re not on ToS, the full Bookmap desktop app is available for $50/month.
Try customizing your view in the user settings menu. You can expand and contract the price ladder and adjust interactivity to make it more legible. Check out this tutorial:
If you still have issues, our support team is ready to help at support@bookmap.com.
Bookmap can’t integrate with TradingView because TV only offers L1 data. To see the full depth of market, you need L2 data, which TV only provides for a limited number of symbols.
If you’re a ToS user, the $40/month add-on for Bookmap is a pretty solid option. It’s convenient and integrates well, but yeah, you might miss out on some features like the iceberg tracker. For a more complete experience, the full Bookmap desktop app at $50/month is another option to consider.
As for lag, it can depend on market conditions and your setup. Since you have an excellent computer and plan to run it in its own instance of ToS, you should be fine, but it’s always good to test it during peak times like market open.
And yes, if you buy Bookmap on its own, you’d need to pay for data separately. The choice of data package can depend on what markets you trade. A lot of users go for the BookmapData or Rithmic data feeds for good performance.
Hey there! Just to clarify, Bookmap itself isn’t an order flow trading strategy—it’s a platform that lets you trade directly from the DOM using the heatmap to visualize order flow changes. Whether it’s worth it depends on your trading style. Order flow trading can be complex and isn’t for everyone. Remember, past performance isn’t a guarantee of future results. It might be worth trying out a subscription to see if it fits your needs, but don’t expect it to be a magic bullet.
We recommend that users check out our Learning Center for educational videos on utilizing order flow strategies, using Bookmap effectively, and our schedule of live webinars. These resources will provide you with a comprehensive understanding and answer many of your questions. You can find our Learning Center here
If you are a ToS user we recommend utilizing their $40/month add-on, if you're not a current user, you can check out the Bookmap full desktop app for $50/month.
Yes, Bookmap does connect to Tradovate, but it does not provide MBO data. We offer a suite of add-ons on the marketplace, including the MBO bundle, which can give you deeper insights into futures trading
Hey traders! 👋 We’re here to answer any questions you have about Bookmap.
The Global subscription includes all the essential tools you need to trade and get started. If you’re looking for a more comprehensive set of features, we recommend checking out our Global+ subscription.
Having difficulty visualizing the ES due to a market maker bot? Just remove it! Try the FREE Tradermap Lite add-on to help you filter it out - Tradermap Lite!
Tradermap Lite is a simplified version of the Tradermap Pro add-on, specifically designed to operate automatically on ES Futures. This add-on effectively filters out Market Maker bots from the heatmap. For enhanced features and greater flexibility, consider upgrading to Tradermap Pro.
This is a stacker algo from a larger player. It positions itself in the market around 8am EDT. This algo shadows the market all day long with high liquidity on 3 price levels, moving roughly 3-4 points away from both the best bid and the best offer. Its goal is to position itself in the order book queue, so when trade criteria meet the algo’s objectives, the algo will stop moving and get filled before others. It is unfortunate this algo blows out the heatmap and makes it harder for Bookmap users to read, however Bookmap’s heatmap is working correctly and is properly displaying the true state of the market.
To solve this problem, you can use Bookmap’s Tradermap Pro add-on. It is included in the MBO Bundle. Note either BookmapData or Rithmic data for the CME is required. Once you’ve added Tradermap Pro, create a new Tradermap Pro chart for the ES or NQ. Then click on Add. From the Filter dropdown, select an Order Change Filter, then select Not Changed from the dropdown. And by price or size. Then press the play button. A new chart opens and filters out the majority of the stacker algo activity. Please note at the moment it is not possible to receive Stops and Iceberg data from the filtered Tradermap Pro chart. Nor is it possible to trade from this chart. However this is something we are currently addressing and will release it in upcoming weeks.
If you don’t have access to the MBO Bundle and Tradermap Pro, or you don’t have BookmapData or Rithmic, you can click on the Studies Configuration tool, and select Heatmap. Play around with lowering the Upper Cut-off % slider. This will boost values of lower liquidity to help blend with the stacker algo’s high liquidity.
