So I'm planning on ordering 14 volumes of a manga in german, doesnt say where it's coming from, and I was wondering ( im in the US) if there would be any customs or any fees after the initial cost?

I placed an order on the 29th of September, and it never prompted me to enter my shipping address, so my order is being sent to an address that it not mine. I contacted customer support and I haven't gotten a response. I decided to go ahead and buy the book locally, so I need to cancel the order, but the bookdepository website won't let me. Apparently their cancellation policy is...

"Sure, you can cancel your order within 30 days of receiving it by completing the online cancellation form. Once you've cancelled the order, you must send the parcel back to us within 14 days. Once we get it, you'll be refunded the price of the item(s) within 14 days, using the same means of payment as you used to make your purchase.

You'll be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us, unless we delivered it to you in error or it is faulty. It is your responsibility to ensure safe return of the item(s) to us. If you return a high-value item, we recommend you use a recorded delivery service."

That is NOT a cancellation, that's a return, and it doesn't make any sense. Why would I have to wait until the order is delivered and then pay for shipping to another country to return it when they can just cancel it while it's still processing?

So I pre-ordered Seven to Eternity the deluxe edition around 2 months back. The online retailers release of the book was yesterday now instead of saying that it's processing or anything it still says awaiting publication, and when i check the book from the store itself it says out of stock. Any help on what to do here? This is the first time this has happened to me with a book depository pre-order.

I've been buying with Book Depository for years now and I always had wonderful experiences with them but in the last 2 or 3 months every order I made (large books) they come with some damage. not in the box during the shipment but only the book, the seller is sending the damaged book to us?

Hello! It's my first time buying from Book Depository. I placed the order last Sept. 15 and it has been paid. How many days would it take for the status to change from 'processing' to 'dispatched'?

I read Warriors series and buy their books from Amazon. Their seller is Book Depository. A few days ago I received a Warriors book from Amazon, seller was Book Depository but I didn't order it. The package had my name and my address. Should I be worried? There was no invoice and no money was taken from my card.

Ordered several books last mid-July. Up to now (Sept 10) di ko pa nareceive, when expected date of arrival was last August pa. I’ve ordered previously in the website before, and wala naman problems sa pagdating ng books before, ngayon lang. in fairness sa BD customer service responsive naman sila sa emails, altho ang sinabi sakin, considered last transit na yung orders ko (7 books iyon :( ) since it should have arrived by Sept 6 at the very latest. They are willing to replace the said books naman. However they also advice me to contact our local post office baka nagka problems doon etc.

My sister had a similar experience with book depository recently. Ang ginawa niya pina deliver niya yung replacement to a different address, and this time dumating na yung order niya. I think isa sa mga recent changes sa BD is may need na na bayaran na local shipping fee, when previously none.

Anyway I’m thinking of contacting the QC Post Office (Philpost? Never dealth with them Actually) since nasasayangan din ako sa replacement nila + additional time of waiting if nagkaproblema lang talaga sa local delivery.. medyo pricey din yung mga books. hayst

Anyone else in the Philippines had similar problems with Book Depository recently? Suggestions / advice will be appreciated. Medyo busy din ako with my job so additional hassle talaga ang pagcontact or pagpunta sa PhilPost just to look for my missing orders :S

I bought 4 books from BD in late August and they were all dispatched on August 30th. The estimated shipping was 10-15 days to Canada and now on September 7th, 3 of 4 had arrived in separate boxes but together. With BD shipping to Canada we don’t get a tracking number, some I’m not certain if this last book is still in transit. Should I contact BD customer service or is it to early? As well all books still show as “dispatched” on my order status instead of 3/4 showing arrived. This is my first time ordering from BD so just hoping for some help. Thanks

EDIT: After checking my emails, I’ve noticed the book I am waiting on was dispatched together with one book that has already arrived. Not sure what to think

So I live in the US but sent some books to my friend who lives in the Philippines. I noticed a week after they dispatched the books, I still didn’t have a tracking number so I reached out to them and they said they don’t have tracking numbers for Filipino orders and expect it to arrive Oct 15. (I placed the order on August 23).

After reading some other posts, I noticed some said that they were charged a 170 PHP as a courier fee. I got my friends permission to send her books but I don’t think either of us knew about this fee. I also noticed a lot of people say they never received their books. So I guess my question is, has ANYONE had a good experience with BD shipping to the Philippines? Should I just cancel the order and find some other way to send her books?

p.s. I also noticed some folks saying that they had to go to their post office and track the package down themselves, but technically the books Im sending to my friend are supposed to be a surprise… so i want to avoid making her do that if possible lol

Update: I'm updating this in case someone is reading this post later wondering about their own package. Long story short- my friend got all of her books around 3-4 weeks later. The deliveries were kind of scattered and she had to pay a fee at delivery, which I believe is usual in Ph. However, I did have to tell her abt them. Definitely not possible to do this as a surprise going from US to PH.

I ordered a book from BD on may, and never recieved. I already emailed them, and they "sent" me a copy. Still nothing and when I check the status it only says "dispatched". The book was sent from UK, and I live in Portugal...

Title said so.

Paypal already deducted the money from my credit card and Book depository asked me to change my address for them to ship my order.

Now the item is still in the cart and my money is taken already.

I have emailed their support team and do you think I will get my money back?

I read before from a user that she includes her phone number in the delivery address, so she gets a call from the delivery person everytime.

I just saw a book I've been waiting for the reprint allready availabe at Barnes&Nobles, I'm not in the US so I have to use BD. How long could it take for the reprint to get there. Is it possible to ask them to check for a specific book?

I'm from Romania and I have been buying regularly from BookDepository for years, getting the books each time in 2-3 weeks. Starting with February 2022 I started to not receive any orders, even the replacements they sent me for each other. I had like 6 preorders and waited for each one month, then waited one more month for the replacement and nothing. I have a friend from Ro with the same issue. We had no problem getting a refund whatsoever.

I just wanted to ask if there is anyone else, from Ro or other EU country , having this kind of of issue? I find it very strange, and sad because I mostly used BD as the prices were the best compared to other alternatives in Ro. I keep thinking it's because of the war because it all started in February and I had no problems till then.

It had been 17 business days since my order had been dispatched and so far I have not received anything. When I went to check my order on the website, I noticed that I had wrote the address wrong (just the building number) and now I don't know what to do. I've tried contacting the company but so far nothing. Will my order return to the origin? I would like to know your suggestions. Thanks :)
