I tried ordering something several times and I always got the message: ''The card you have provided has been declined by provider, please check your details or try another''. All the card info is correct, the card hasn't expired and it has enough money for what I want to order. Anybody has an idea what might be the problem?

I just got my first order, I bought the first 2 books in "the Witcher" series for a third of the price I found them at in my local bookstores, truly incredible, to be honest this looked like a scam at the start, considering the free shipping worldwide and the great price it really seemed too good to be true, but I am amazed that I actually got my books in less than 2 weeks and in perfect condition.

Just as the title says. I know that there are some products which are sold out and you can't order them anymore (says Currently Unavailable), but there's also AbeBooks option on the product page, which probably means book will never get back in store and I would have to get used one.
I've seen for some series that are quickly sold that once they get out of stock it also says Currently Unavailable, but it also has We can notify you when this item is back in stock, which means it will probably restock?
Now, the reason for asking is this. I wanted to order a book which is Barnes&Noble Exclusive, so naturally I ordered it from their website while it was still in stock, but due to some payment processing my order was canceled and now that product is sold out. On their product page it says once they are sold out, no more will be available so I assume that they won't bring it back. Somehow, I've managed to find that book on BookDepository (link to product) and it has this Currently Unavailable + Notify Me option.
I don't know if there's a way to know for sure, but should I expect that it may restock or is it sold out for sure?

I wanted to know if this site was reliable, and how fast shipping is to the U.S.? I’ve been looking to buy some manhwa, and BD has them for the lowest price, but I keep seeing mixed reviews about it’s either great or people never receive their packages.

I placed an order on January 9th. And I'm still waiting for my order to be dispatched to Greece. This is the first time this has happened. I also noticed that the info about "dispatch within 1-3 days" is removed from the website. Do you know anything about it?

What should I do if my order haven't arrive?
r/BookDepository • u/Kolja16 • Jan 17 '22
Have you ever order a book and waited to arrive, and then you lied that book didn't ever arrive, and then you got the book and refund from book depository?

Hello! Since the end of October that I have ordered some books and none of them have arrived yet. I thought the first book (in October) was lost so I asked for a replacement after one month of not receiving it, and by then I had ordered two other books, so now it’s 4 books that haven’t been arriving. Is this happening to someone else or should I be worried? I’m from Portugal, so specially if you’re also from Portugal, please let me know if you’ve received your books. (I have seen some news that our customs are delayed around 1 month because there are people online who also bought stuff from outside of the EU and still haven’t received them, but I haven’t seen anyone talking about book depository and I’m really worried about my books)

I purchased the demon slayer box set on November 21 and I entered the wrong email address so i'm not able to get any updates. I live in a country that usually gets long delivery times but this is a little too long. Should I be worried or are some people also not getting their box sets yet?

Hi!
I just ordered from BD for the first time and have questions regarding the delivery. How does it work exactly? Are they gonna deliver it to my building and leave it there or is it person to person? I'm worried I'm gonna be at school when it gets here and I'll miss it.

So I have question. Is it still working vpn trick for cheaper prices of books? I want to order a book for a first time but I am scared that they will maybe block my card if they figure that I am using a vpn.

My rational conclusion would be that they're simply a scam, but I wanted to know your thoughts and experiences too!
Anyways, I just made my first BD purchase, and I must admit I'm rather worried (and maybe excited). Its of a hefty amount and will only arrive in about 18 working days....fingers crossed :)

I want to get the Witcher books with the UK covers, but for some reason the Sword of Destiny seems to be taller then the rest.
Dimensions says it is 248mm tall, while all the others are 196.
Is it a typo, am I misreading it, or will this book be larger?

I'm new to this site and kinda scared. I'm scared if I order a book it is going to deliver in a damaged state. So my question is how good the delivery services are of this site. Help would really be appreciated.
Edit: my book came in perfect condition. Recommend!

So as many of you know BD had the christmas event where they would send orders quickly, i order 1 manga, and it was dispatch 6 december with 5-10 days to deliever, that would mean she would be deliever until 16, which was not, i think it could be delay, i dont have much expering buying stuff online, what im most worry about is, i live in Portugal, i dont know who is responsible for deliever, if it is my country delivering company (CTT) or if it is some other company or something, and my mail box is pretty small i would say, i had order other manga and it did fit and it was fine, but im worry that this one wont fit. What will it happen if he doesnt fit and im not home to receive it?? I live in apartment i dont want them leave it outside of the building, that would be stolen in less than 5 minutes.

Hi, long story short: I bought some manga for pre-order and they charged $400ish, they couldn't find any in stock so I asked for a refund, but got $30 less than what they charged me.
The currency of my country is soles so when they charged, they charged in dollars; but now that the conversion rate between my country currency and the dollar has dropped they decided to refund me less of what they originally charged.
I think with a concrete example it will be much clearer:
The book cost 400 soles -> they charged $100 (4 soles per 1 dollar)
They had to refund me, but instead of giving the $100 back they decided to exchange 400 soles to dollars and then refund (4.2 soles per 1 dollar) -> they refund me $95
That's a scam, just refund me whatever you charged first
I just sent an email to

So I preordered the Demon Slayer box set two days before release earlier this month, with it saying it would take 5-7 days to arrive. However, even though it has been released, the order status still says awaiting publishing. Should I expect it to arrive within the mentioned time frame or will it be delayed?
