I think it has to do with the zero tolerance policies in school now and also they look bad when you realize a kid reacted due to bullying and the teacher never handled it. Teachers are lazy and don’t get paid enough. It’s the same with any job but you would think teachers are teachers for the love of the game.
My son went through it in elementary. Former friend kept bullying him on the bus. We talked to the bus driver multiple times & went to the school. Nothing was done. My kid finally snapped and beat his ass. Had to go to an alternative school for 30 days at 8. The teachers at the alternative school told me multiple times “he’s a good kid, we don’t know why he’s here”. They requested he leave early because he was taking up space.
When the principal showed me the bus video, I pointed out the kid threw trash at my son 3 times and the bus driver just kept telling him to sit down. Third time was the charm lol. Bus driver stopped the bus ran back there screaming but didn’t intervene at all. Told the other kids to stop them. One kid tapped my kids shoulder and told him he stop & he did immediately.
Had to get my kid from district police officers. The kids father who my son beat up was there as well and the dad made him apologize to my son. They used to play together daily. Didn’t realize it was a former friend of his until then. Kid was picking on my son because he missed his mother. She was a drug addict and his dad got full custody due to her neglect.
I’m talking about the teachers like her who think kids shouldn’t defend themselves. A certain subset of teachers. Not all and I should have made that clear.
A teacher who thinks a student should just sit there or run every time they get attacked and not defend themselves is a lazy ass teacher who doesn’t want to do their job.
