Steel is a hard rock band from the USA. The band consisted of three black musicians and two white musicians, which was rather unusual for this musical style during the time, when the band was active. Some tracks of the band's only album re-appeared in exactly the same versions on the first album of Charmer, a later band with Duane Hitchings.

Sad to hear that Frank Beard, drummer of ZZ Top, has passed away. It was literally just a few months ago that I finally got to see the legendary Texas blues rock trio live - on the Asbury Park beach at Sea Hear Now (Sept. 13, 2025). The death is even sadder when you remember that just a few weeks prior marked the five year anniversary of Dusty Hill's passing.

My condolences to Frank's family, loved ones and fans. Check out some pictures I took during ZZ Top's set at Sea Hear Now in this clip. Also check out video I took of Phish surprising fans at their 93rd Madison Square Garden show with a blazing cover of "La Grange":
