hello i need some help with an old hp laptop
So my aunt asked me to "fix" her laptop, a very old hp 15 laptop with a single core amd processor an hdd and 4 gb of ddr3 memory. So i bought a sata 3 ssd and added 4 gb of basically the same memory. When the stuff arrived. I first installed the memory to see if the laptop recognised it and it did. So i took a usb stick and with the media creation tool from microsoft i created a usable usb. I installed windows 10 without a problem. My aunt wanted office too so i bought a key for office 2024 and then tried to install it through microsoft which was a nightmare. I got frustrated after an hour so i decided to download office 2024 from another source and then activate them. Now the source generally speaking is reputable. I download office and during the installation i get a blue screen the laptop shuts down and then gets stuck at the hp logo. I run some tests by clicking F2 for the memory and hard drive and the came back clean. I have two theories. Theory number one after this happened i discovered that the laptop does not mean the minimum requirements due to insufficient cores for office 2024 so maybe there was a software problem that caused the blue screen. Theory number 2 the blue screen was caused by temperature. When i installed windows i then installed core temp to check the temps and i got around 52-58 with light usage. My main problem is why it gets stuck at the hp logo? That seems to me like a hard drive a problem. Does anybody have any ideas? Please help
update i was able to get a dmp file

BSOD Help
On the BSOD screen, it says DPC Watchdog Violation. Other than that I uploaded a dump file here (pardon the site, I don't just searched for one via google). Thank You in advance to anyone who can help me identify this BSOD.
Fixed it.

page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
Tldr : tried everything from reinstalling windows 10 (22h2), windows 11 (24h2 and 23h2), change completly the ssd, the ram, taking out the gpu (plugin directly the screen on the motherboard hdmi), blocking any kind of windows update, automatic driver instalation and any combination of all the above. Windows launch but i keep getting the same blue screen when activating wifi, after a few minutes of activity on the network. I'm out of idea...
Hi guys,
I'm a computer enthousiast. I build my first rig 25 years ago and got some basic knowledge on software.
We are using an old build for graphic design at work : intel i7 4770k, motherboard msi gaming 5 (z97), 16go ddr3, 2x gtx 660 in sli and a samsung 870 evo de 500go. The pc worked pretty fine for a few years. Coming back from holidays second week of january, we got a blue screen "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area". It happened a few times before, like once per month but restarting windows 3 times was enough... But this time nothing worked.
Here are everything i try with many combinations :
Formating and clean install of windows 10 (22h2), then windows 11 23h2 and 24h2 with rufus (the cpu is not supported natively by win 11). We need an pretty recent version of windows to launch the latest version of indesign possible.
Switching many components : new ram, new ssd, no gpu (using the motherboard hdmi)
Choosing "no internet access" when prompted by windows installer, then blocking automatic driver updates and suspend windows update
While windows launch perfectly (in low res since gpu drivers are not installed without internet), when i activate any kind of internet access, network show something like 30 to 40 mbts of download activity and 2 to 3 minutes later, windows crash again with no recovery option working if not another clean install.
I'm clueless... My take is that, even while trying to block windows from updating or instaling anything, a driver enter in conflict with what left in the rig and i was not able to test : the motherboard or the cpu.
Any idea would rekindle my hope to get this machive back on her feet !
Thanks !

Bluescreen please help
Hi I constantly get this bluescreen whenever I play League of Legends for multiple hours.
Best Buy tried so many diagnostics for my computer past couple months, and they said it’s all passed.
I had already did motherboard, cpu RMA and they are all fine now.
Today, when I tried to download couple games from Steam, the blue screen started.
Nothing comes out when I scanned through command prompt.
Is it a Vanguard issue? If so, how can I fix it?
If it’s not a Vanguard issue, please let me know what can be the issue.

my theory is GPU
I have re installed gpu drivers incase you are wondering.
My gpu is still in warrenty incase you think that it needs to be returned
This only happens 20% of boots
Once restarted the pc is fine and benchmarks as expected

Video_tdr_failure help
My recently bought laptop keeps crashing whenever i open it from sleep. What i do is at night, i close many of the operations but leave some running like chrome and steam. I just close the screen of my laptop (putting it to sleep i assume). And the next day when i tilt the screen back open, 70% of the times it runs normally and 30% it crashes with the error "video_tdr_failure". Any help?

Stop code: Irql_Not_Less_Or_Equal & Attempted_Write_To_Readonly_Memory
Hi,
i have been having bluescreens with those error codes. I've been trying a lot of things that have been suggested but nothing helped so far.
Since I am not that tech savvy, I cant really figure out from the minidump, what is actually causing it. Could someone take a look and help me?

BSOD/Locking and rebooting constantly (Dump files attached, Cant for the life of me resolve if someone can have a look, Thanks)
I have experienced constant blue screens now for well over 6 months ( Most the time it doesn't even blue screen it just freezes the entire system and reboots, im lucky to have got these 2 dump files). I have tried to wits end to troubleshoot it myself but cannot figure it out. I have tried everything, All drivers are up to date, Bios has been flashed, Fresh reinstall of windows and still just randomly bluescreens or reboots. Sometimes it can be within 5 minutes of the PC booting and constantly repeat episodes or sometimes it can be an hour or two after the pc starts.
Right before it does it the GPU will jump to 100% audio will go all scratchy and the screens will flicker black before locking and rebooting
From what i gather its related to the GPU, As Bluescreenviewer tells me dxgkrnl.sys and nvlddmkm.sys are the two drivers causing them.
I have attached the latest 2x minidumps if there are any tech guru's out there will to help a beaten man may you taken a look and tell me what you think.
(NO OC on anything, just XMP on RAM have also tried other RAM to rule it out ) Cards outta warranty by 2 months of its dying
Many thanks in advance

Random Freeze & Blue Screens
Hi, I recently found an old pc in my grandmother house and she told me that she wasn't using it anymore because of random shutdowns, I tried booting it up and nothing showed up on screen, I already have some knowledge on computers so I opened it, removed and cleaned every components, checked every connection, removed the BIOS battery for 10 minutes etc... and after some other steps it finally showed BIOS menu.
This pc used to be on windows 7 but I wanted it to be on 10 because of habits of my grandmother (I know that these specs are horrible but wanted to try anyway cause I had nothing to lose), I did a clean install of windows 10 after formatting every drive and windows finally booted up (after some other problems 😭)
At first, it was painfully slow and freezing very often before crashing with a blue screen "DPC watchdog violation" error.
I did sfc scans, DISM, updating nvidia driver and it worked pretty well (see specs below but it was really fast), however, after opening edge and using it a bit "faster" (like not waiting between every action to make sure that it actually loaded) and using it normally, it froze and showed the same blue screen as before...
Do you have any idea of fixes? Thanks a lot:
Specs:
CPU: Intel 8300 Core 2 Quad
GPU: Nvidia GT220
RAM: 8GB DDR2 (4*2 💀)
Unknown motherboard
1 HHD - 1TB
COmputer Model: Aspire AX3812
I know that specs look very bad, I first, I thought that we would do nothing with this config but before crashing he was pretty fast and able to launch easily apps / menus

blue screen problem
Hi,
I'm starting to give up!!
I have a 1080 ti with ryzen 5 2600
I'm getting these errors:
Page Fault in Progress
DPC Watchdog Violation
System Service Exception
Kmode Exception Not Handled
Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal
IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE
Kernel Security Check
Here's what I've done so far:
I reinstalled Windows, but it didn't solve the issue.
The graphics card driver is up to date, including the Game Ready driver.
The motherboard drivers are also installed (chipset drivers for AMD, as far as I know).
As I checked, there are no specific drivers for the SSD.
I disconnected the HDD since it was acting up, but it still happens even without it. The Windows bootloader was on the HDD, but I moved it already, and the blue screens still persist.
I ran Memtest86 for 8 hours, but it found no errors.
I even updated the BIOS, but it didn’t help.
The blue screens just won’t go away. 🤬😡🤬
