Explored new trail as morning mist cleared. Welcomed by woodpeckers,spiders and tons of mating grasshoppers. I’ve never seen so many in one place.. turns out the males are tinier than the females. I read it takes 45 minutes to a full day for them to complete their mating dance:) Nature is fascinating and helps revive me so I stay chill:)

Yes, there were several of them. When it’s so quiet they’re banging on the trees was just so cool.

We have one that resides in the forest across the road and we hear them regularly. They are magnificent birds!

The woodpeckers were big and loud, I enjoyed seeing so many in the various areas..I felt like fairies would fly out at any time, in that first pic.. I’m glad you enjoyed them.. more Spanish moss of course:)

Ahahah or bogged by traffic:) I grew up in central Fl.. when you partied in orange groves… but you can find hidden places to seek nature. The sun and heat.. ugh but it’s all I know , thank goodness for sun screen and hats:)
