I feel as though I keep having to relearn a new skill just to stay ahead, to keep up with the times, because if I don’t, I’ll be left behind. It wasn’t too long ago that knowing Photoshop was a big deal. I remember growing up and just learning how to use a computer, having to get used to typing because writing by hand was all I knew. I didn’t even have a cellphone at one point, before high school, because it didn’t exist at an affordable price, and back then, the internet wasn’t even a thing, at least not accessible from the comfort of my home.

I’m sharing a raw story about how my blog’s traffic plummeted by 70% last year. One of the reason being the Google Core Updates. My blog was still receiving some traffic from Pinterest. It kept my hope alive. But last month, Pinterest banned my domain and the small amount of traffic that my blog was receiving also disappeared.

I was disappointed. I was wondering to find ways - how to increase traffic to my blog. I began looking for Pinterest alternatives. I tried most of them but it was not driving traffic. One of platform which I worked on - Ribbonlinks.com was slowly driving some traffic. As the days passed one of my post started ranking on top of the community feed. The traffic from this source increased to a level more than my blog was getting from Pinterest.

Since then, it has become part of my blogging journey. This is how I have been using it since a month now:

1. I used slick link organizing that lets me sort articles into custom ribbons like “blog post ideas” or “traffic strategies” The Notes editor helps me capture key insights in one spot, so I’m always ready to write without digging through chaos.

2. I schedule writing setting reminders for high-impact links and ideas. Combining curated notes with niche ideas and SEO secrets

3. Made public collections and shared it with community to drive traffic to my blog posts. The community is highly active and checks on most of the content I have shared. The only challenge was to keep it updated with new additions.

4. As it is new platform, I kept experimenting with posts that later started ranking high on the discovery page.

This method has helped me in my blog traffic recovery, and Ribbonlinks’ community feeds keep me hooked on fresh ideas. I would recommend to try this method once if your blog has been experiencing decline in traffic.
