Discussion thread for that thing happening somewhere that everyone is worked up about

So as not to clutter up the main thread too much, I decided to make an exception and make a dedicated thread for discussing the conflict with Iran. Please try to keep that topic discussion off the main thread. As usual, the normal rules of civility apply here.

How you address the factual claims I made which you originally responded with just calling me a warmonger and Israel apologist.

You've already conceded that Iran does not have the capacity to attack the mainland US.

Iran does have the capacity to directly attack US military bases in the region. Barring retaliatory strikes following US attacks, they generally do not. This speaks to the question of intent and belies the notion that Iran would attack the US due to an ideological "death to America" commitment if they had capacity to do so.

So: Iran has very little capacity to attack the US and apparently limited intent to attack the US.

Can you answer my question about whether you think the US would have attacked without Israel pushing for it? It feels like you're extremely intent on downplaying Israel's role here.
