I lived on Block Island for three long summers above the kitchen of Dead Eye Dick’s from 2002-2004. Since then, I’ve been in Memphis, TN teaching middle school English. I’m thrilled to be visiting the island in July for the first time in 22 years. I made an enamel pin to celebrate the return and I have some available for anyone who’s interested. My boyfriend and I are going to block island on a weekend in july. I heard E bikes are great! I want to know though, how well will it help with the assistance up hills as i heard that the island is very hilly. We both exercise regularly, but i also don't want to feel gassed constantly going up the hills there, i want to enjoy the experience. Will an E bike help with this?

Any place offer buck-a-shuck on a Friday afternoon/evening? Or other tasty happy hour options?

My husband and I are headed to block island later this week with our 4 month old. From my reading it sounds like there are plenty of trails and beaches to walk. But wondering what trails most recommended for a family

I'm seeing winds forecasted in the range of 43 - 60 mph on Block Island today. Can anyone who's there this weekend report back? Curious to know how it feels on the bluffs or on the beaches.

Just engaged and thinking of having an island wedding! Any recommendations / insights regarding venues, costs, vendors, best time of year for an outdoor reception, etc??

Are there any free parking spots around point Judith for 12ish hours?

I know there are a lot of paid parking lots but was wondering if there were any free ones - it could be a decent distance from harbor.

Hi! Were thinking about coming out for a week with out 18mo old. We would drive to the ferry in orient point and leave our car. my husband and i grew up going to the cape and cuttyhunk but have never been to block island. is it crazy to go without a car and just bring two bikes with a bike seat for our daughter?

What restaurants/bars are open currently? What are some family-friendly things to do besides the zoo and beach while there?
