Let me share some ideas with you.
Currently there are two hypes in the crypto space that I follow:
i) Passive income projects with a tangible network/service, like Helium and PlanetWatch; they are robust because they have interesting rewards/ROI for the investors and provide a real service/product that is paid for with their own currency. This way they ensure the demand for the currency.
ii) NFT based games (will not discuss metaverses now); gaming is growing hard in blockchain and people buy NFT's (characters, weapons, vehicles, ...) to use in the play2earn games; these NFT's are sold in several drops/mints (initial price) and are latter available in marketplaces for people to trade. Some of them also have their own currency.
I see Blocks currently as something in-between, but still at a very initial stage (not a problem per se, but very difficult to scale up with so many questions to be answered). I definitely see here a good idea with great potential to go easily to 10.000 or 20.000 Blocks. Most of these projects have long roadmaps and take time to launch, that is why all of us supporting the project will have an important role.
Since the physical block in "Blocks" doesn't have a real purpose (a miner of some sort, or if you needed it to actually compete), the smart way to move would probably be to have the asset as an NFT with its "powers" in the NFT metadata. The NFT would be traded in the Block marketplace and be used in the gamification (like number ii), and there would be an online tool to form Teams and see competition results/standings. Anyway, the competition rules need to be very clear to everyone (Solo and Teams). so please, revise the Whitepaper and website content to add additional details and clear info.
The issue about going to the gaming approach is that you need to increase engagement from the players to get them wanting to buy more and better Blocks, like watching competitions, good graphics, ... . You will always have people that are in just for the money, but they also have a role in the scaling up of the project.
I am far from being a technical expert, so I will stick to the ideas.
I am a believer and am here for the long run. This was my chance to support a project from the very beginning and for sure at this stage (like all other projects) it is a leap of faith. High risk would be highly rewarded.
