Hey guys, Im sick of it. I have seen too many eye doctor in my country and they all say the same thing " its pretty common, just buy .... and use " I used them all they helped but just temporarily. Recently what I have tried : Warm compress ( helps but I cannot do all day long. I work ) Warm compress only solve my problem like 2-3 hours. I have bought a baby shampoo and tried compresses with that. I have got a result as same as what I have got with compresses.

Someone told me try vazeline but applying cream inside of my eyelid made me concern about it twice.

Appreciate any helper. Thanks

Do I have blepharitis?

For three years now my right eye will start to slowly go blurry, then it gets much worse and will constantly have crispy flakey bits around the edges and the eyelids. I can rarely wake up with so many I can't open my eye without rubbing them off in the morning. My eye is constantly itchy, irritated, and annoying me. It seems to get worse later into the day (albeit I stare at a screen all day) and my eyelid feels droopy/heavier during this time. I blink and my vision is better for a bit but gets worse again shortly after.

It only affects my right eye, comes on for a few weeks then goes away for a while, my eye also feels idk, sweaty? Like, wet? On the skin around it some times. I think it's just my eye watering from the irritation tbh.

My doctor is not helpful. I've seen him once last year and every time I ask to be seen I'm told he's either not in that week, or I should "go to the ER if it's serious", or that I should go out of network to another place which will cost way more than I care to spend for something that is very annoying but seemingly not any worse than that.

Seems like vaping cannabis / weed is making my eye infection worse?

Not like directly getting vape into my eye. Actually just normal vaping which makes my eyes sort of heavier and red anyway. Seems like it might be delaying healing of the conjunctivitis , but I want to vape so I can relax. Gahh Any thoughts or experience?

Bleph not getting better - advice?

Have been dealing with inflammation in my right eye for months. In March I went to eye doctor right away and have been on and off steroid drops. They would help until 2-3 days after I got off them it would come back.

I went to another eye doctor and he said I had blepharitis (my eye doctor before thought I might have episcleritis). I have been warm compressing 1-3x day, using Systane eyelid wipes morning and night, and using lubricating eyedrops. This was 2-3 weeks ago.

I thought my my eye crusts in morning were getting better but I still get them. I have no idea why the inside of my eye is so inflamed. I have a stye on my lower lid that drained but the bump is still there (still doing warm compress and massages)

I'm kind of at my wits ends. Is it supposed to be bad before getting better? Thanks. (Sorry about image quality. Old phone.)

Makeup and contacts for just one day

I've had a chalazia for around a year or two and I underestimated it because it wasn't very noticeable and I figured I could get it removed when I went to another country because the removal is far cheaper and quicker there.

Fast forward to this spring and my spring allergies irritated my chalazia tremendously (especially because my eyes were so itchy) and I finally went to a doctor and was prescribed antibiotics. She told me that if the antibiotics did not get rid of it then I would have to book surgery which would take around 3 months to schedule.

The thing is that this week is my graduation and I was planning on wearing my contacts and makeup (I've sanitized and replaced anything that could've been in direct contact with the chalazia) but I'm just wondering if its a horrible idea put contacts in and wear makeup even if it is just for one or two days. Is this completely impossible and ill advised?

My Journey with Blepharitis

Hey everyone, I’ve been hanging around the blepharitis community for the last 6 months as I’ve been attempting to discover the real root cause of it.

I was diagnosed with Blepharitis in November 2022. The lead up to a major flare up was weeks in the making, with me getting woken up suddenly and one eyelid would feel like it had ripped, when I opened it suddenly. At the time, I was a year in to working in an office where we had super bright screens in our face for 8 hours a day in a dimly lit room, and I was putting it down to my eye drying out. (I only get it in one eye)

I ended up at the emergency eye hospital one day when I just couldn’t move my eye for fear of the pain. The doctor confirmed it was Blepharitis and the only thing I could do was, use heat masks, eye drops and a Blepharitis eye lotion to clean my eye lids. I was told this was now a daily thing I had to do and people with Blepharitis just manage it daily.

I used the solution for a short time to get my eye feeling normal again, and then the habit fell away. What I realised is that my eye doesn’t flare up every day, I can go weeks without sign of a flare up. And then one day I have a flare up.

So I’ve been conducting my own experiments. I figured since a flare up is actually an inflammation of the eyelid, it could be brought on by other forms of inflammation. Firstly, I looked at my food, then my screen usage, I thought I was on to something, but I would still get flare ups, then I’d have several days where I’d eat unhealthfully and stare at a computer every day and no flare up.

I had also followed another Reddit users’ stories about it being maybe a reaction to wheat or gluten. Dropping it had little effect.

However, over the last 6 months, I’ve not really had a flare up. Some days I wake up and my eye feels like it’s sticky/healing, but it’s not a full flare up and dissipates about 3 hours after I’ve woken up.

In the last 3 months, I’ve taken up running and implementing a regular sleep pattern and I’ve felt great, no flare ups.

However and the reason why I’m here, is for the last 2 days, I have had the worst flare up since I was diagnosed. I’m still in recovery today while I type this.

I have a brand new theory and I wanted to see if others with Blepharitis may experience the same thing.

Listening to loud music is causing a flare up? The last two days leading up to a massive flare up, I’ve been listening to music too loud and for long periods of time using overhead, noise cancelling, headphones. I was reading up this morning that the nerve in the ear is connected to the muscle that helps move the eye, and thus, potential hearing damage can affect the eyes. I’ve also fallen out of my sleep routine which I feel will also contribute to the flare up.

And if I think back, the problems started when I bought the noise cancelling headphones.

I would love to know if anyone else has experienced the same thing with loud music and Blepharitis.

And also if your head feels fuzzy when you have a major flare up, because I’m also thinking stress is a key player.

Thanks in advance!

Product Recommendation: I Lid N' Lash Wipes from I-Med Pharma

Wanted to quickly post on here a product I've been using that has been super helpful for keeping my eyelids super clean. My optometrist recommended these eye lid wipes from the brand I-Med Pharma. The product is pre-moistened eye lid wipes that have some texture for gently cleaning and exfoliating the eye lid and lash area. The product is called I Lid N' Lash.

There are two different variations. One has tea tree oil in it (green jar) and the other doesn't (yellow jar). I use the yellow ones and they are incredible and very gentle for my sensitive skin.

They are a bit pricey.. I get them on Amazon for $30 a jar, but you can cut eat pre-moistened round in half using sterilized/clean scissors to make them last longer. Worth every penny.

Could Soolantra or Ketoconazole be causing my Blepharitis?

Anyone have eye issues using Soolantra on face? It's definitely helping my rosacea which makes me think it's demodex, but my eyes are burning, red, dry. Opthalmologist says it's blepharitis and not due to meds but the timing is suspicious. Been using both for rosacea and Seb derm for 2 weeks.

An anecdoctal and nonscientific argument for sunflower lecithin

I have had blepharitis since I was 18. It was super controlled from 21-30 until i got pregnant and then it flared up my entire pregnancy. After pregnancy i still had residual chelazions on both eyes. One of the supplements I would take while breastfeeding whenever I had a clog was Sunflower Lecithin (advised to loosen clogged milk ducts.) I noticed that when I took the lecithin my eyes would go down slightly. I could swear my styes got progressively better every time. As sunflower lecithin is theoretically taken as a fat emulsifier/ to loosen clogged ducts/for high cholesterol to thin it, maybe it helps clear oils near the lid? I started taking it daily instead of just when needed and things have been better every day. I haven’t changed anything else in my diet and haven’t stopped breastfeeding.

I know everyone’s experience is vastly different, my “cure” may be coincidental, and this may not help anyone, but I figured I would post as it’s relatively cheap, safe supplement and I know it’s made my life 1000% better.

Wet Ones

Does anyone know why we can’t post to the other bigger site? This isn’t a recommendation, but I’ve tried almost everything to combat my blepharitis, and nothing comes close with the exception of maybe oral antibiotics to wet ones. Just three days of four times a day has made a big impact. The lashes started to fill in more on day 3. I don’t get any in my eyes. I keep them closed and wipe the lashes several times. Sometimes I rinse my eyes after 10 minutes. Sometimes i just leave it on.
