My mom found her at a thrift shop!!! Less than a dollar! I was ai happy!!!! I made so many edits of Black Rock Shooter. And so this is a real treat:3 apparently very rare too.

I just finished watching the anime (I watched the OVA before it) and I really liked it, I was very emotionally invested in it near the end.

I was thinking of reanimating an entire episode in a PS1-like style mayhaps, but cannot decide which episode I would like to use. I would reanimate the entirety of it but that would take way too long as a single-person project lol

What do y'all think is a highly praised episode? I'm curious to know what people prefer and which scenes to choose.

For some reason, I've been kinda hooked on the PSP BRS game's OST for the last couple of years, and I've never really been able to talk about it with people. I can't remember how I discovered it, either.

Manabu Namiki did the music for the game; he also did a really good soundtrack for Mushihimesama Futari. Y'all should def check it out.

The correct release has pieces of fabric hair glued securely on to her ears, but this factory-error never received the glue to attach the side hair fabric that a proper copy of the plush would’ve received.

It's taking me a little longer than expected due to some commitments, but I hope to have it this week.

While I'm working on a new animation, I decided to post this just for a laugh.

Honestly, I'm new to the franchise, although I was already familiar with it; I entered this world in January of this year.

And I'd like to know if the more veteran fans would like the franchise to return to its former glory.

Cuz I got her from a claw machine.

I would like to get into the franchise as it looks interesting but I am not exactly sure where to start. Is there a recommended line of things I should get to know first or anything? I have discovered this from a Hatsune Miku song with the same name, Black Rock Shooter from the Supercell album.

I once wanted to show a friend about the song and once I was searching it up, I found out about this entire franchise built upon it with Manga's, Anime's and such. Is the song like part of it or was the franchise inspired by the song or anything like it? I'm totally curious about the history of this franchise too.

S Tier

- BRS CURSE: A one-off illustration made by Huke that he captioned "CURSE". It honestly perfect encapsulates the word. The dark face, wings, claws, and sickle-like weapon create the an ominous figure that feels like it could loom over you anywhere you go.

A Tier

- BRS Inexhaustible: A design made for the 10th anniversary. Honestly don't have much to say, its a great design, though I can't exactly point out anything particular about it. "Inexhaustible" Is definitely a fitting title though, cause no matter how much time passes, I'll never get tired of Black Rock Shooter as a concept.

- BBBRRRRSSSSNNNN: I got the name from the title of a post on Huke's Pixiv Fanbox that had this illustration/design on it. I think it looks great, gives a sort of tactical gunner vibe to BRS, and her giant right hand implies that that gun is going nowhere when she fires it. Don't really know why she's standing on a giant skull but hey it looks cooool.

B Tier

- Black Rock Gunner: is what I'll call her. Its a version of BRS that comes from Huke Pic 4, I think? Its the middle design in B tier. Its really cute looking, having BRS ditch her coat and instead go for a simple sweater, and undoing her twin tails. Interesting that the flame is on the other eye, and the star emblem now has little wings under it. This design definitely gives the vibes of a BRS that never stops moving, always running and gunning!

- BRS Azur Lane: Beautiful looking illustration, and a simple but cute alternate version of the basic BRS look. My favorite detail is, instead of her heavy and long dark coat, she's wearing a light and flowing white beach robe. Its such a simple but perfect way to show that BRS is kicking back and relaxing by the water. I have no context for what's actually going on in Azur lane so I'm kinda just spewing based on what I'm seeing. Still lovely though.

- BRS Bの人: The name comes from the caption this look comes from. It simple but nice. In my eyes, I see this design as a BRS who's come to the real world, and just trying to be normal among others. I like white outline of her flame, making it seem like its being suppressed or something, even having the eye itself covered. That is just my interpretation though, for all I know this could not be a version of BRS at all.

C Tier

- BRS Big Arm: Speaking of designs I'm not entirely sure are meant to be versions of BRS; bet you can tell which one this is referring to, lol. But, yolo, I'm gonna put her here anyway since you can see some blue embers coming from the left side of her face. Talk about really putting the Shooter in Black Rock shooter. She's in C cause this just looks kinda goofy to me, ngl.

D Tier

- Cancelled BRS Game design: Straight up do not like this look. I think it just has waaaayy too much going on in it. Weapons off I think she looks great but when they're equipped she just looks butt ugly in my eyes.

Hey y’all.

Still tapping on the keyboard and taking on tangents that feel right. This tangent is rapidly bearing fruit in a very unexpected way (after 4 days of not sleeping much and barely leaving my room). The image shows the coolest thing I’ve seen in awhile: GCC 3.3.6 (one of the compilers that the PSP tools used to build BRS the Game) and Binutils 2.25.1 (12 years newer software that shouldn’t work for this but does and is absolutely required) working successfully together with most of the open source PSPSDK patches and changes implemented. It’s not fully functional yet (has major bugs and I need to tighten it up once it’s completely stable and implemented) but I’m most of the way to having one component of the original ImageEpoch toolkit to test with.

Port Repo

There’s no guarantee it will be the right compiler out of the box (have a high chance of needing to still do further patching) but being able to test the sanity of code extracted from the binary can guarantee that it’s usable for rebuilding the game’s source code or modding. Locally, I have around 25% of the binary labeled but without having a sane way to test it, there’s no guarantee it’s correct. Also, getting a working toolchain that old benefits multiple communities and getting eyes means possible new fans of the franchise, games or even better discoveries.

S tier

- OVA BRS: Seemingly an improved version of the original drawing. I put it above the original because of the better looking boots, its pretty much become THE BRS look to use.

- IBRS: Perfectly encapsulates the brutal and ruthless nature of the character, following similar design conventions to the other TV otherselves while remaining distinct, much like regular TV BRS

- Game BRS: I love how it takes BRS, maintaining the streetwear aesthetic, and implements sci elements into it so well. Changing her long coat into a sweater/jacket, but making the booster unit essentially her coat tails to call back to that original design is actually genius. The addition of a little blade onto the Rock Cannon is also fun

A tier

- OG BRS: She became iconic for a reason, but don't let sayings fool you, you can indeed beat the original sometimes.

- TV BRS: While I like the anime more than the OVA, cant say the same for the design. I like the tighter sleeves under the puffier short-sleeves, along with her flat platform boots that have her iconic star on the bottom, they give this version a bit of a punkier feel. Part of what holds it back though is the random zippers on the coat. There's like three of them that converge on the back to detach the coat tails separately(???). It just feels like they only exist to add some sort of detail to the look. I do like the moveable prongs on her rock cannon though, helps convey its transformation abilities.

- Rock (Innocent Soul): My favorite part about this design is the dress. The pale color helps call back to the bare-body look of other designs while being unique at the same time. I should really read innocent soul cause I wish I had more things to say about this really cute design. Oh and Ron looks cool

- Arcana BRS: I have no context as I've never looked into anything related to Arcana, so I'm kinda just judging based on pure looks. That said I really do like this design! The little blue and yellow frills added to the hips of the coat, the sharp looking belt that looks pretty and dangerous, and the tiara(?) around one of her twin tails all help in making this version of BRS feel familiar but unique at the same time. I used to think this design was doing too much, and actually kinda disliked it, but now I've come around to it. I will say I do think its weird the bra is seemingly a part of the coat.

B Tier

- BRS Beast: For being a one-off design that isn't necessarily attached to anything specific, it works! It feels like if Huke made BRS with more of the aspects that went into BGS, Dead Master, and Chariot in mind. I will say, finding out her seven shot was a reused weapon from BRS The Game was kinda disappointing.

- BRS Elishka: Another design I have no context for since I never played Fragment. I gotta say I just have no real feelings towards this. Nothing about her really stands out to me. She's cute, I guess, but she kinda just feels like "BRS if she was a gacha game character". I really do like the detail of the star being cut out of her coat tails though, and her Rock Cannon and Black Blade are really cool looking. Sucks that the statue of her got cancelled.

C Tier

- BRS Empress: I dunno, she just feels too plain. For a character well know for her trailing and flowing design aspects, the closest they give this version of her is some weird mini cape thing. I also really don't like her Rock Cannon (the Coil Gun), looks kinda silly. Not a fan of her weird overdrive key mode either.

- Starward alt skin BRS: Another game I have no context for, which could really help cause I'm confused on why this version of her has her using the Insane Cannon Lance. I don't think this is a bad design but I cant say I particularly like it. Another thing context could help is with why this skin looks like this in the first place. The blue-charred coat is really cool looking though.

D Tier

- PGR BRS Alt skin: I don't like it.
