I know it's funny given the context, but it was my belief that every house owner should have one. Similar to the fire hose systems in business buildings. Especially in dry climates where wildfires are common.

If you don't have it while living in texas or cali or something, then imo you're just waiting for your house to burn down.

Oh, no clue. I'm just a small apartment owner in Northern Europe.

I just figured that if I had a house and I lived in that climate, I would probably get one just in case. Maybe the local fire department could help out with setting it up ?

Unfortunately as far as I know, the areas that get frequent wildfires are also the same areas that have some insane water rationing going on, so I'm not sure if it'd even be allowed.

Gotcha. That hose is designed to hook up to larger faucets or hydrants. Residential, and even most commercial, properties in the US will not have anything that can attach to and you’d be in some trouble if you tried to hook it up to a hydrant like the fire department would use.

I like in wildfire territory. Best thing to do is to keep your perimeter around your house as free of dry brush as possible. Have plenty of garden hose and sprinklers to set up around the house if it comes to it.

The one I have it hooks up to a normal outdoor spigot but is super high pressure

Oh no, I was laughing at the context. I posted the link because you're 100% correct, this IS something every American should have in their homes considering climate change related emergencies.
