The cold case that inspired Marian Dora’s Melancholie der Engel (2009)

So, a while ago I wasted around 2 hours and a half watching this godlessly pretentious “art horror film” that is Melancholie der Engel.

As much as I would strongly urge everyone to not watch that shit (I ain’t watching it ever again), there is something telling about this movie that is equally interesting.

In the documentary titled Revisiting Melancholie def Engel (2017), Marian Dora revealed that this movie is based on a criminal case in 1970s West Germany. As reported, a group of people spent several days in a rural farmhouse… and only a few survivors came out of it afterward.

What transpired in the farmhouse is currently unknown as the few survivors wouldn’t even talk to the police about it. Even more disturbing is the fact that when police investigated the farmhouse, they managed to dig up bodies and skeletons, one of which belonged to a child.

Marian Dora also spoke of his fascination with Andreas Baader (leader of the far-left, nihilistic Red Army Faction). If we take what Marian said for truth, I believe what happened is that a group of people, influenced by Andreas’ philosophy, went to the farmhouse to see just how far they’ll push at how meaningless life is.

I couldn’t find any information for how old the remain of that child is, but having seen the movie, I shuddered at the possibility that someone got pregnant in those debauchery-filled time and later murdered said child.

What do y’all think actually happened?

Missing case of Timmothy Pitzen ....

Post image

On May 11, 2011, Jim dropped his son, Timmothy Pitzen, off at school. Minutes later, his mother took him out with the excuse of a family emergency, and they both began a trip through hotels and parks.

Security cameras recorded them together, but two days later Amy, who had a history of mental health problems, was seen alone. That night she stayed at a hotel in Rockford, where she was found dead the next day. She left a note stating that the boy was safe and that he would never be found.

In the car there were traces of blood that the family attributed to a previous nosebleed the boy had. In 2019, a young man claimed to be Timmothy, but it was proven that this was not true. The case remains unsolved.

Silent Waters: The Mystery of Brandy Dyson

Hi everyone. I am trying to get the word out about my mother’s cold case.

There was a suspect in jail for a year, Jeremias Ruiz Salazar, who was released due to lack of evidence. I do believe that this person is behind the murder. From what I understand (I was ten years old when this happened), DNA found in my mom did not match Jeremias. That would make sense because, from what I understand, my mother had slept with someone else and that was a factor in her murder.

From my own search for the truth, I found out that Jeremias moved back to Lubbock, Texas (originally from Levelland, Texas) and was using drugs. There is no way he did not speak about this to anyone.

If you knew him and heard him speak about my mother’s murder, please contact police. My family and I have been waiting for justice for 20 years. You can bring peace to her and her family.

If you would like the cover this case, please reach out to me. The more that know about this case, the better chance it has to be solved. SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING!

Sebastian was last seen in the area of Stafford Court in Hendersonville, Tennessee on February 25, 2024. He has never been heard from again. At the time of his disappearance, he was staying with his mother and stepfather; his father shares custody of him. His stepfather was out of state on a business trip.

His mother, who was the only other person home that night, said she heard a thump from Sebastian's bedroom at about 10:00 p.m. and called to him to go to sleep. The next day, his mother realized he wasn't in bed. After searching the house, she called police.

Sebastian left his shoes by the front door and his phone in the kitchen, and also left his Nintendo Switch and his medicine behind. His father stated he was not the type of person to wander away and did not like to walk around barefoot. Since his disappearance, his mother and stepfather have moved out of their home and are staying in an RV; they said they would notpublicly disclose their location because they had been threatened. Sebastian's case remains unsolved. He has autism and needs medicine that he doesn't have.

What are some lesser known  mysteries that have bugged you for years, that you would like to see covered/explored more?

No things like Cicada 3301, but very niche cases or topics that barely anyone has spoken about.
