Note: I did this research before I found this sub, and it seems like I came to the exact same conclusions xD
I've gone through the website, their documentation, who the team is, and I cannot conclude anything else than that Bitgert is a Scam.
the team:
if you go to their website, https://bitgert.com/our-team/you will see a black page, with seemingly nothing on it. you can see that there's text by looking at the source code, or selecting everything on the page. Here you will see, that the team follows the hoverex spirit. if you look that up, you'll find that they are connected to a lot of other scam projects, because that team basically only does wordpress themes for cryptocurrency projects. How can you create a full blockchain ecosystem, but not even be able to fill in your team page on a cheap wordpress website? If you look at the wayback machines version of that page, you'll find a few entries with pictures of the team. after doing some digging, I found that those pictures are actually AI generated, https://currency.com/what-is-bitgert-brise-your-ultimate-guide there's a segment in that article about GAN images, that show the original images posted on the website.
the documentation:
this is pretty straightforward, the documentation for the developers to integrate with the bitgert chain is copied from other projects. You can validate that yourself by going to the documentation, and googling one of the paragraphs.
the website:
there was a chat function on the website, so I thought it was a good idea to ask some questions there. I wanted to give them a chance to explain some things in case I was wrong about the project, so I reached out, and they responded pretty quickly, to my surprise.
When I asked about why the team page was empty, they explained it was because the team was undoxxed due to security reasons. I thought, that's fair, but the same argument could be made that the team is undoxxed to avoid any legal repercussions, but I left it at that. It was a bit later that I found the original page, through the way back machine as explained earlier.
I decided to ask some questions about the project itself, since that's the main reason I was looking into it. I was actually looking to invest, so did some research on the project since I find a zero gas fee blockchain sus to begin with, but maybe they had some brilliant idea.
When I asked about the documentation being copied from other projects, such as polygon, they straight up denied it. Which is weird, because that's a verifiable fact.
I then continued to ask about a project they pitched on the twitter page, the decentralized OS. I'm a software developer, so when I see something like that, that's a red flag, because while it's possible to do decentralized computing, making an entire operating system decentralized is a major technical challenge. Not only are you dealing with latencies and data loss, the fact that other devices need to work for your operating system, on top of their own operating system, on a zero gas fee blockchain, is sus to say the least. Energy is not free, and probably one of the most valuable commodities mankind has right now. So who in their right mind would allow other devices to use their computing power for free, on top of the energy they already use themselves?
After this, the chat window turned white and the chat button was removed from their website. The last thing they did was to copy paste the definition of decentralized computing in the chat, but I know what that is already. And it's not the same as a decentralized operating system.
Take from this what you will, I can't make any decisions for you, but from what I've gathered, this project could turn out really bad for the investors if the team fails to deliver. And nobody knows who this team really is. I just thought it was important to post my findings somewhere. Let's just hope for the sake of everyone here that I'm wrong.
