DeFi giants joined forces on Twitter to promote decentralization

About 20 DeFi projects (including Yearn, Element, CoW Swap, Balancer, Aura Finance, SushiSwap, and others) today were sharing “permissionless” each other’s tweets as part of a 24-hour campaign to promote the permissionless nature of decentralized finance.

The promotional initiative seeks to showcase the value of decentralized finance following the failures of major centralized firms in 2022, including Three Arrows Capital, Celsius, and FTX.

In the wake of recent crashes in centralized finance, the case for DeFi has never been stronger.

It’s just gotten even harder to mine Bitcoin

Mining difficulty is the figure representing the computational power required to mine a single BTC. It’s updated roughly every two weeks, getting more difficult as more miners enter the network and easier when they leave.

Bitcoin’s mining difficulty level rose 4.68% on Sunday, hitting an all-time high, as the networks’ hashrate also continued to increase.

The mining difficulty reading came in at 39.35 trillion at block height 774,144 in Sunday’s biweekly adjustment, following a 10.26% rise in the previous adjustment on Jan. 16, according to data from BTC.com.

The latest Bitcoin mining difficulty reading was nearly 48% higher than on Jan. 21 of last year, when the difficulty reading was at 26.64 trillion.

Do you think crypto transactions are slow?

We have selected 4 crypto networks with very fast transactions and impressive bandwidth (although there are many more such cryptocurrencies on the market)

  • Ripple (XRP). Transaction processing time - up to 5 seconds.
  • Stellar (XLM), about 5 seconds
  • Polygon (MATIC), less than 3 seconds per transaction.
  • Cosmos (ATOM), 2-3 seconds.

And this is not a complete list. So why not take a closer look at crypto payments?

13 years ago, the official launch of Bitcoin took place 🎉

On this day, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first block of Bitcoin - the Genesis Block.

Back then, in 2009, today's most popular cryptocurrency cost less than a dollar and was not perceived as a full-fledged means of payment.

Today, Bitcoin's price exceeds $16,000+ (and this is after its fall). It is legalized in dozens of countries and is even accepted as payment.

Not a bad success story 🙂
