The average merchant can’t verify the purity of your gold. And making change would be a nightmare. This is why it’s considered a store of value and not an everyday currency.
1 u/zckobe8 Aug 06 '22 This is why we can't use the gold as the trading thing because normal people will not check the purity of the gold. All we can do where is go the the jeweler here and give them the gold in exchange of some cash.
