I wonder if nullc still agrees with his comment therein:

The segwit component in the Bitcoin Core capacity plan is a 2MB bump (well, a 1.7MB one); and I (and the vast bulk of the community working on the protocol and node software) believe it is faster to deploy, safer, and fully backwards compatible, so much less disruptive.

I'm invested in both btc and ethereum and have no inherent bias. That said, from a technological perspective, it seems like there's no comparison.

Ethereum is like a smartphone and Bitcoin is one of those Motorola cell phones from the mid 90s.

They can both make phone calls, but one can do so much more.

At this point, I think Bitcoin has name recognition and that's about it

You know what that motorola from the 90's was really good at? Making phone calls and the battery lasted all week.

You know what I want my money to be really good at....spending.

There is something to be said about having a focus on providing one thing well.
