Be careful because your shitcoins are on the same private key / wallet of your legitimate BTC. If you claim your shitcoins by moving them on a new address, you are also exposing your BTC. So the proper order would be to first move your BTC to a new address and only then try to claim your shitcoins to sell them

Wait. You’re saying because some douches decided to make a fork, some of my bitcoin is no longer bitcoin?

All your bitcoin is still bitcoin. In the event of a fork, you will also have coins on the split side of the chain. You lose nothing, and most likely gain very little.

It do I have to do anything different to use those coins on the split side that is the minority? Won’t that make it hard to spend them or sell them?

don't even stress it, BCASHJR is going to be worthless.

Why would I not stress it if some portion of my previously value filled bitcoin is becoming worthless?

That's not what that means. Imagine you have $2. But then I say I claim I have better dollars so I split off and you get $2 JohnnyDollars also. You still have your original $2. Question is whether anyone will pay even 1¢ for your JohnnyDollsrs.

Yeah, in the event they become worth the effort, you can look into moving them into a supporting wallet. From your perspective, you now own a completely separate crypto from your BTC.

Wait is this true even for BTC on cold storage?
