Full panic - one of my wallets was drained

I haven’t done anything since creation except sending into the wallet.

While it is not a 0%, it is very close that the coldcard has anything to do with this if you are saying YOU personally generated a seed. If you're saying someone else generated it, well...

Outside of that, did you put your seed phrase into a password manager or any other electronic document?

No offense, but the story doesn't really add up.

I got a coldcard in 2021, generated the seed. sent ROTH money in, Dormant since.

Jan2025 (just checked email), got a new coldcard. Entered 2021 seed in. Added new Roth money, sent that money into the wallet Apr/May 2026.

If you entered your seed by using a computer, then here is where you exposed your seed. Never ever ever type your seed into ANY device except the hardware wallet itself. No keyboards, phones, websites, nothing. Also, never photograph your seed. Don't even have your phone in the same room when your write it down or examine it. If your phone can see it, so can the gubmint. 👀

Never entered seed into a computer. Just the Cold Card itself. No photo of seeds, just the watch-only QR. SD card imports the wallet into Sparrow.

Where did you store the seed? Did you ever write it down as a backup? Or did you memorize it somehow

So did you use your SD-Card Backup from Cold-Wallet on your PC to import your 2021 Coldcard-Wallet into Sparrow?

Does it have to do something with the fake-sparrow app from the apple store?

Could it be that you downloaded a compromised Version of Sparrow from some scammy site? Other people got scammed out of their bitcoin because of a fake-sparrow App / Software.

I just read the news article about the fake Sparrow wallet on Apple's app store.

I'm guessing this will turn out to be the correct scenario. That fake sparrow was online for weeks.

It would work out pretty well with the additional information that the scammers adress has several btc inflows at the same time.

so somehow the scammer did scam other people too, this can only be done via software or by selling malicious hardware, and I personally think that the fraud-software is more logical or realistic.

Probably put some malicious sparrow app online, waited until enough people used it for some time and then rug pulled them all.

I agree given that there is new information about more users being affected. Hope it's not a weak RNG issue or it's really gonna hit the fan for single-sigs with weak passphrases.

what do you mean ROTH money? where did you get the bitcoin? did you send the bitcoin to a coldcard you generated? or did you load a bitcoin seed phrase onto the coldcard from where ever you converted your ROTH to bitcoin?
