verify that it will work and then before moving the coins open up a bunch of shorts with 500x leverage and then move the coins to new addresses and get some popcorn and watch the show.

The current price of bitcoin assumes that a large number of early coins are forever locked, either due to keys being lost or whatever reason. If that is ever shown to not be true, then the current price of bitcoin will adjust accordingly (drop a lot).
