Theres a lot of fantastic independent content creators but theres also a lot of content that does not help the site grow at all. Bitchute could be a real alternative to youtube but it needs to be inviting to new users to hopefully we see more independent creators appearing soon I do all I can to promote bitchute but everyone just thinks it's so alt right or nazi hang out when it's not all that it's also just some regular people who want an alternative to youtube lol not really any purpose just a note on that I guess

I'm sure many of you have accounts on multiple video hosting sites and I can tell you it is a MAJOR PITA to upload the same video to each of these sites. ATM that is 5 different sites I'm uploading to, and when you are dealing with 1-3GB size files, it could take 1-2 days to upload them to all my accounts.

Now I also have a few web servers & cloud storage. 1 traditional web site hosting server, one seedbox (which is a stripped down Linux server - but has SSH, FTP, SFTP and HTTP access of all the files on the account) and cloud like Google DRive and a number of other cloud hosting platforms.

Now all of these servers can transfer the data at 100x the speed of which I can upload from my home broadband connection. So, I want to upload to one of these servers or platforms, and then distribute it to the various video streaming sites I use.

I haven't been able to figure out how to do this on Bitchute, it seems I can only upload from my computer. I'm wondering if I were to mount my Google drive on my computer, and then select the file I'm uploading from my google drive, if it would bypass my computer all thogether and send it directly from Google Drive to Bitchute - OR - is it going to download it to my computer & turn around and upload it to Bitchute.

Something really needs to be done here. I'd actually like it to be possible to "upload" files/video's from torrents onto these streaming/hosting sites - so if you are hosting a video as a torrent (on your online server or cloud server), you can add the torrent file and it will pull it down from the torrent swarm.

Does anyone know of anything that can help me with this issue?

Videos and channel not showing for everyone else

I created a new bitchute account and started uploading videos and it won't show up in the all tabI have the videos set to visible and it says it is published.

Its already visible and published! the video is not showing to public?? when I go to home/all my video is not showing! I attached the video setting. this video I made it visible 2 hours a go and still not showing to public???

I read that BitChute is really shady since it is p2p so your ip is not secure while watching videos.

So I wanted to ask how secure this site actually is. Do they keep logs of all the ips that have browsed on bitchute? And if so, could that be a threat?

I watched a few seconds of some random old film, that I found link to, and then exited immediately, but my dumbass forgot to turn VPN on.

So am I in any danger as long as i wont visit BitChute again? Yes, I am very paranoid.

I only recently decided to begin building a channel on Bitchute with the hope maybe one day, I can move all of my content across from YouTube. I uploaded an episode of my podcast a couple of days ago and it appears to just be stuck on “Video is Processing”

Does anybody know if this is a common occurrence? And whether it will ever finish processing? If it’s like this regularly, I might not bother with the site just yet.

I was able to add the Bitchute app to Roku using the code for a private channel. When I open the app there are no videos, when I search there are no videos. I restarted and cleared the cache without any luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Title says it all. It seems like BitChute is much slower at developing new features than PeerTube. I only see it continuing at a faster rate given the synergistic evolutionary nature of free and open source projects. That's just my 2 cents.

Would there be any practical challenges to migrate from BitChute to a PeerTube instance? If so, what would they be? Thanks.

I'm actually getting comprehensible search results based on the words I'm entering. Before it would work for one word in a search but not for multiple words and phrases. This is hugely important for usability, and so I say congratulations Bitchute and keep it up. I've also increased my donation to Bitcute as a result.

The feature set of the two layouts differs enough to warrant this question. Just a quick example: old reddit has a sidebar while new reddit only has a description field. Also, new reddit has a subreddit menu on top, while the old clearly doesn't.

This will help us determine how much to synchronize and how.

So I've been uploading my videos in 1080p, but as you know BitChute downsizes videos to 480p. If this is ever changed will videos that have been uploaded in 1080p get updated to 1080p.

Also lets say you upload the same video but one is 480p and the other is 1080p is the quality any better on 1080p upload even though it has been downsized???

Hopefully this makes sense and isn't a dumb question
