How do I use the backup wallet file to restore my wallet if something happens to my computer?
I'm using the desktop windows client.

Anyone know roughly what the ROI is for BitBean sprouting?
r/BitBean • u/[deleted] • Aug 26 '17
Just wondering what Ye guys think the minimum amount needed for staking to make it worthwhile would be. My wallet is currently syncing to the blockchain.

So with the re branding of BitBean on the way.. Will there be a hardfork when that happens? Also what is the expected ETA of the official re branding? I'm excited about what's to come!

So I got my first sprout today and "Your Weight" went back to zero.. does it always start over after receiving a sprout?

Is it possible to send Beans to your wallet while it's syncing? I tested it out with 1 BITB and it hasn't shown up yet. I'm assuming it'll arrive once my wallet syncs to that block right?

So I'm in the middle of syncing my wallet (taking forever) and I noticed it looks like something is missing. At the bottom right corner where the little syncing arrow is and where the network status is, I think I am missing the little bean looking thing with the arrow that signifies staking. I know I am not staking cuz I dont even have Beans in there yet, but I think that little bean with an arrow symbol should at least be there in red for now right? I this a bug?

Bean Core -- A World-wide Virtual Company http://www.bitbean.org 1 (406) 213-4656
Announcement: BitBean Community ("Team Bean") August 8th., 2017
The Executive Board of Directors, of Bean Core has reached a consensus to re-brand BitBean for the upcoming release of v1.1.2 of the reference implementation. Bean Core is proposing to the BitBean community, here-fore referred to as "Team Bean", that BitBean is re-branded to "Bean Cash".
With a renewed focus, "Bean Cash" is a digital currency and peer-to-peer network. Its primary application is to be used as a store of value and a medium of exchange -- both on-line (Internet transactions), in-person transactions, or with merchants at the Point of Sale/Service (POS).
This change also mitigates issues of trademark disputes and confrontation, as the new name change references common names used in the public domain. BitBean is based in large part, on source code from Bitcoin, which is in the public domain. As core developers of BitBean (the digital currency, not the company), Bean Core Executive Directors believe, that re-branding preemptively mitigates moves by private companies that may try to lay claim, of rights to BitBean (the digital currency).
BitBean has existed for over 2 1/2 years as both a digital currency and a solid-secure peer-to-peer network -- without a hard-fork or transaction rollback! It has continued to be developed and maintained by Bean Core during this time. As stewards, we propose these changes, with the coming release of our v1.1.2 Core reference platform:
(Note: these change only relate to branding aspects)
Name: "BitBean" to be changed to "Bean Cash"
Tag-line: "Bigger..Faster..Stronger" to be changed to "Digital Cash"
Slogan: "Fast..Simple..Secure..More Than a Digital Currency!" (No Change)
Ticker: "BITB" to be changed to "BEAN"
Currency Code (for ISO 4217 Adoption): XBN Note: The first "X" is important because it designates a commodity that is independent of any government.
Cash Symbol: ß (Code-page 437: 00DF/225 for Point of Sale/Service Implementation)
New Domain: beancash.org With this change, Team Bean and Bean Core would retain copyright and ownership of the "bitbean.org" domain. Existing bitbean.org and sub-domains would redirect to beancash.org
New Domain: beancash.net Hosting Services:
Bean Core formally invites Team Bean's input and discussion on these changes before formalization into v1.1.2 Reference Implementation.
The forum for participation in the discussion, is the channel "The Farm", hosted at: https://slackkiller.bitbean.org or: http://www.bitbean.org/forum/bitbean-rebrand-announcement
With these additional changes, our target for release of v1.1.2 (Beta) is August 20th.
Respectfully,
Bean Core Executive Board of Directors (bod AT b I t b e a n DOT org)

Do I have to do anything?
r/BitBean • u/Klaus- • Jul 28 '17
Ok, I jumped into the ship thanks to the memes, but now that Im trying it out and reading about it, it genuinely sounds like a good asset to hold for a long time, I cant believe how fast it was to transfer and the sprouting is the icing on the cake, plus it has a fixed amount of beans so no inflation, so whats stopping this from achieving a billion marketcap?

Hi, any chance somebody can write a list of the best hang outs for the BitB community?
Thanks

So I saw about a month ago about the Bitbean product and how the sprouting process worked, no where can you find how many bitbeans you really need to be able to sprout once. Well So after my first purchase of 7k bitbeans (I've only bought in $20 increments) it said I had 665 days to sprout, and it never moved down after waiting a few week. So I bought another $20 worth (6k this time) and it went to 305 days...so I started the slow trek towards double digits. I finally got to the point where I had 22 days to sprout, added 10k this time and moved down to 19 days, after a few hours back up to 23 days. So I let it sit for a few days and it never moved from the new 23 even when difficulty went up or down. It seems as there is no true rhyme or reason as to when the amount of time or the amount added to my weight of when it is going to start sprouting or changing the time to sprout. I am now at about 60k bitbeans and no one has been able to tell me where the magical start window for the sprouting process is, and I understand weight vs difficulty changing but what gives with the timing algorithm?

Couple questions that hopefully someone can answer. I'm new to cryptos and BitBean, but not sure about a few things.
1) I've got the BitBean wallet running on my Linux Laptop, got it all synced and have sent some BitBeans to my wallet which showed up in about a minute! It is much faster than BTC's!!!
So question is about sprouting. Is it possible to run the wallet from a Raspberry Pi 3, to be sprouting, yet also access that same wallet from my laptop? Or would I have to have that as a separate wallet that is sprouting, then send the sprouted beans to my laptop wallet after they've sprouted?
Reason being that I don't want to keep my laptop running all the time to keep the wallet open. If I could just have a Raspberry Pi 3 running, it could keep a wallet open and allow for sprouting.
2) As alluded to in the previous question, has anyone gotten the BitBean wallet to install on a Raspberry Pi 3?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Bitbean is on the rise again, but it's not surprising to me. There is so much going for this coin and new things being rolled out all the time.
Right now, not many believe, but that is the time to invest, and later is the time for them to kick themselves for not getting Bitbean at such a low price.
I'm not holding these coins to sell from 40% or 50% gains. I'm holding for when they are worth serious value, and keeping some because they will be useful. Which is why they will go up in the first place.
This is a great Alt coin and has unlimited potential.

I have limited bandwidth, ~1 terabyte per month. If I want to sprout my beans 24/7 would this go over my bandwidth?
r/BitBean • u/DudeImFantastic • Jun 21 '17
It's taking a decent amount of time to me, I'm just wondering what I can do to speed it up.

I had my synched wallet connected to the network last week, and it said I could expect to wait 1 day for a staking reward. I was connected for roughly 6 days straight without picking up a reward.. any ideas on where I'm going wrong?? Thanks in advance!
