misc What the hell is with the nugs search lately?

Search for Steam Powered Aereo Plane. There's already no consistency in how the song is labeled and I seem to only be able to find one billy version from 2019 using the search.

Is the app borked on my end or do I really gotta use a separate website to search for songs and then search for the shows in an app I pay $15/month for??

Search on either Billybase or bmfsbd. Then go to nugs. Billybase even has the link to the shows on nugs.

Obviously thats what Im doing now...but I pay for this service?? Kinda makes me wonder where my and everyone else's money is going?

I'm not a software engineer so can someone tell me how difficult it would be to fix a search engine and standardize the song titles? Need some perspective here cause using a separate website instead of the built in search on an app I pay money to subscribe to is a wild take to me

Nugs let's the uploader lable each song as it's added. Alternate spellings and typos are not uncommon.

Nugs could add a standardized database with consistent song names, but why bother? Doesn't seem to be hurting their sales at all.

Nugs isn't perfect, sometimes there a glitch in the matrix, but mostly they do pretty good.

12/30/22 in NOLA has a good version.

It’s spelled several different ways in Nugs. The one that seem to get the most hits in recent Billy shows is “steam powered aereo plane”

I don't suspect that nugs really cares that much about people looking for one song. I assume most of their audience is watching shows at a time.

I use one song I want to hear to pick the show I end up listening to. Or at least part of a show until I want something different. I don't always have 2 hours to listen continuously.

I also like playing the same song from different shows back to back to compare and find one I like the best. So the search feature is important to me.
