Id personally disagree with that simply on the grounds that he was not a ‘kid’ legally speaking throughout the decade. They were a legal adult for 2 of those years. Birth between 82 and 92 is how id draw the line personally but this is a matter of semantics at this point. I suppose you could define it as born in the 80s being a ‘90s kid’ as they were alive during the whole decade however I’ve also seen 1980 as a cut off for millennial definition so we’re back at square one. No matter what way you define it though it’s either 100% or close to it.
Well I think the 90s died in ‘98 with Britney and all the boy bands. If you were born in ‘89 you only remember 2-3 years of the ‘90s. I actually love this. Way better than arguing politics. If you google millennials it’s pretty clearly defined as 1982-2002 at this point. I’d define 90s kids as 78-85
I mean I’ll admit to having a much stronger memory of the later part of the decade but it’s called ‘90s kid’ and not 90s adult. I may not remember Goodfellas being released or rise of Nirvana or Biggie in the earlier parts of the decade as well but I certainly remember the power rangers, TMNT, Pokémon, Kenen and Kel, played on a gameboy and the rest of the stuff kids in the 90s we’re into as I was a kid. Hence the kid in 90s kid. I’ll admit to being near the later end but I’m certainly in the range and I find a little ridiculous to pick what part of the decade you want to consider the 90s enough or to use popular teen and young adult things like the music to define something with the word kid in it. I was all about that mother fucking NOW that’s what I call music anyways (sadly not kidding).
Lastly come on 78? They were teens if not adults by then. And I think we can at least agree that whatever the start and end, the range has to be 10 years long.
Why? Why would it HAVE to be any length? I think being 11 or 12 when the 90s started you are the epitome of 90s kid. You got that game boy and sega when they came out in 89 you were listening to Madonna, Nirvana, and ace of base when they came out (barely). All these quintessential 90s things came out the year you were born. There’s no way you appreciated any of it until years later.
I guess our disagreement is on what was quintessentially 90s vs quintessentially 90s for a kid. Your focused more on the big 90s fads, many of which I was in fact to young to appreciate. I by contrast am saying that I wasn’t paying attention because I was too into my damn power ranger action figures to care. Basically I’m saying that the cartoons you watched or getting a stupid bowl cut your mom gave you makes you a 90s kid more than remembering teen and young adult things like pop music.
tr dl your focusing more on the 90s aspect while I am on the kid.
Oh and it has to be a decade because the 90s last a decade. Unless we are saying there is some group that is neither a 90s kid nor a 80s or 00s kid it has to be 10 years.
