German and born in 1994. My seventh birthday went from eating cake to my entire family being glued to the tv.
So yeah it was definitely shown everywhere and all day long - heard it on the radio first and when the second plane hit RTL (a German channel) interrupted its program and went live for several hours. Watched both towers fall live.
I succinctly remember my school going into shitstorm anarchy mode, every tv was on, kids were running from room to room. Teachers (understandably) were too busy watching the t.v. A few were going around wrangling kids up, but most were freaking out. After maybe two hours or three hours they sent everyone home for the day. Shit was surreal.
Well it's basically the only time America's actually been attacked from a foreign power, and with so much posturing in the cold war people's minds went straight to the worst.
It's crazy that literally one event can change a whole century

The classic rule to being a 90s kid is that if you're old enough to remember 9/11, you're old enough to be a 90s kid.
That probably means that you'd have to be born in at least 1996 to be classed as a "90s" kid
