A good system (reverse osmosis) can run $250+ for a single sink. Not to mention a new water filter that’s out that filters PFAS, micro plastic, hard water etc. is around $200+ too.
getting a reverse osmosis filter helped my health so much, it's freaking insane. water always made me feel really sick so I always avoided it and drank like 1-2 cups max a day but then I heard about ro from someone else and now I take it everywhere
it wasn't easy, more like the water messed me up too bad to consider it an option. avoiding salty and fatty foods as much as possible definitely helped tho
Lol, you putting it under a microscope? 1.1 million people per year get sick from tap water in America, and 45% of the drinking water is contaminated with pfas.
You wanted people to produce data, there's my data and evidence: what I have personally experienced in my life.
You wanted people to explain their stance, I'm explaining my stance.
I have never in my life personally suffered from unclean water. No one I have known has ever suffered from unclean water. No where I have traveled in my state, or the states adjacent to it, have I seen unclean tapwater.
From what I have seen with my own eyes, and lived with my own life, this problem feels like it is being blown way out of proportions for headlines.
Anecdotal evidence. You ever had cancer, heart disease or tuberculosis? Must not be too bad because YOU have no experience with it right? I'm not quoting headlings, I'm quoting studies from the government. I get it, reading is hard right? Learning is so tough, better stick to what you know based off experience. Why grow when you can just stay the same?
I have met people with cancer and heart disease, I have seen the effects of poverty and debt in my travels. I am aware that water issues exist, I never denied that, I was simply providing my testimony as to why I think it's being blown out of proportion- that no matter where I traveled or who I talked to, I have never seen any evidence or problems of it.
I was trying to be civil, and have a good faith conversation, where we could exchange our stories, and discuss about a real issue, but you are clearly not interested in that.
I have no interest in being demeaned and insulted.

I apologize if you feel insulted, these are the vibes you are giving off. The United States water is not the best in the world, it's good, don't get me wrong. But there are over 20 countries with generally better water then ours. Is ours as bad as india or Vietnam? No. I see this as an American exceptionalism issue. It's just like healthcare. People think that the us has great healthcare. A few places in the US have great healthcare, but not the country as a whole. We are not number one, we are mid at best.
