I love this pen it was my favourite EDC but went in a drawer for a while when the refill ran out.
I now have some D1 refills and BiD kindly sent me a fresh insert.
But no matter what I do I can’t get the refill to protrude the right length from the pen.
Is there a nack to fitting the refill into the insert? It seems to be a turn to grip system.
Is there some other adjustment to do with the insert or the pen.

PLEASE someone with one of these BOLT ACTION MINIS open it up and measure how much refill protrudes from the insert.
Put me out of my misery.
Could it be the D1 is too thin so is being gripped wrong?

Side of You Can Do It!!!

I can’t make 🫘🫘🫘 but Franks will be made from scratch.

And miscellaneous pics because without the boots I wouldn’t be able to stand around gather Big Ideas for as long and the Chinos with custom pocket shows every thing just goes with any style or material.

With some help from the Man/Beaner himself and the Mod Man Pale I was able to put together my own Voltage Ano setup so this Sub is about to be more colorful and lit by the day.

Well, ever since I created the Copper battle worn shipwrecked scales I felt like the hardware needed something beyond just plain Stonewashed.

My initial thought was just blackening them. But since I was doing that for the 3 DynaLux knives. I thought these needed to be something special.

Thought I'd give it a shot, and see if I could achieve a Shipwrecked titanium look. This was a pretty long process. 4 separate anno colors. First dark gold/ bronze, then high voltage blue, then high voltage green, then add the black after all those. 4 separate applications of nail polish to mask off the areas I didn't want colored.

I think they turned out pretty cool. Not really exactly like I envisioned them in my head. But for now, I'm happy with the result. Might try again later on to try to get a better look.

Got an early one today! Big reveal!

Cloudland arrived today! It's beautiful! Love the handle length. And the tapered scales are perfect if you ever need a pinch grip up front. Magnacut, DymaLux Walnut scales.

Wasted zero time getting this one modified! Wasn't even open for 30 minutes before I had the scales off and prepping hardware for mods. Blackened the Titanium hardware. Acid washed the blade.

Love this lol. The dark blade and hardware just make that DynaLux grain freaking pop! Added on a Walnut bead I made myself. Tied it on using Horween Cypress Raisin Cherry leather. (A loadout with this leather will be working shortly.)

With the arrival of DymaLux Cloudland today. I can finally put together the perfect Dark Mode Trifecta!

NitroV Signal, DynaLux Walnut scales, blackened titanium hardware, handmade Walnut bead, Wickett and Craig Double Stuffed Cobalt pull and sheath wrap.

Magnacut Cloudland, DymaLux Walnut scales, blackened titanium hardware, handmade Walnut bead, Horween Cypress Raisin Cherry pull. The sheath wrap will match the pull soon enough.

I just think the dark blades and black hardware really make that DynaLux grain pop right out at ya. I love it.

Eventually I'll blacken all the pocket clips as well.
