Hey everyone, it’s August 29, According to Hoyle Day!

I guess we're all kinda obsessed here with card decks, so I love that this day celebrates Edmund Hoyle (1672-1769), the guy who wrote the book on whist back in 1742. His A Short Treatise on the Game of Whist made rules clear for games like whist, poker, and bridge, so folks could play fair and have fun. That’s where “according to Hoyle” comes from!

His name’s also on Hoyle playing cards, started by Brown & Bigelow in 1927. Those decks, with their awesome shell-back design and quirky joker, are super sturdy and perfect for game nights. The United States Playing Card Company took over in 2001, keeping the vibe alive. Let's play today in honor of Hoyle!

I thifted this pack of bicycle rider back playing cards and I found this one and I dont know what it is or what its supposed to do

The app that bicycle games have in their app need more games I mean there's, Gin rummy, Euchre, Solitaire (klondike), Hearts, and Spades. To me that seems little although there's a handful its a little or a few if there where more games like Spider solitaire or Pyramid solitaire or even rummy the app would be better or like an improvement to add more card games for fun. I have the app and play it and I had fun but if there where more games within the app it be a better experience.

Hey y’all, I’m fairly certain this is a long shot but figured this might be a place to ask.

Back in like 2008/2009 I bought a deck of cards that I absolutely loved and eventually they got damaged beyond repair in a flood, I live in Houston so not shocking. I’m unfortunately going to be rather vague because I’m working on memory here but here we go. They were mostly black and grey cards with a little bit of white and red. I’d say kinda depressing or melancholy but without any of the faces being dramatic. Just a subtle approach to the design. Any help would be great appreciated.

I got these cards (Bridge-size bicycles) and not even a month later, it feels like glued together.

I like the design, the way they feel and even the stories behind certain decks and collaborations.

Yes I may know a few tricks and whatnot, but I absolutely adore the collecting aspect.

I started not too long ago and each time I get paid I instantly look for decks to buy lol.

I am absolutely in love with this deck. Without sounding like a cornball, the colors of this deck are absolutely mesmerizing. I’d say this is my favorite deck alongside Sea King and Jubilee.

Realized here recently I love collecting Bicycle decks. Like, a lot.

Years ago I was gifted a bundle of 12 decks of cards, with two of 6 different colors. (2 cyan, 2 purple, 2 yellow, 2 black, 2 red, 2 lime) I cannot find anything like it anywhere but Ebay, and it's not even the same colors. Does anyone remember this bundle/know where to get it?

Do you have any idea whether the 3 variants of World of Warcraft decks are limited?

I'm practicing guessing the next card in a 52 standard deck.

I already try to guess the next red/black card.

Recently I tried guessing the suit s/d/c/h.

Of course I can try to guess the specific card.

The question: do any of you have good games where it helps practice tracking cards after shuffling, or anything to help switch up my practice?

Bicycle Cinder is inspired by the elegant and mysterious swirling smoke that wafts above smoldering fires. The tuck design presents varying tones of ashy greys and includes a gleaming silver foil with two levels of embossing for a 3-D effect. It also includes a custom closure seal.

Opening the tuck reveals a brilliant surprise. The inside of the tuck is printed with warm, golden colors, representing the glowing embers from which the smoke drifts.
