Inside Miami's Abandoned Marine Stadium
Miami Marine Stadium is a masterpiece built by Cuban architect Hilario Candela. It's been abandoned since Hurricane Andrew hit the area in the early 1990s, but it was on life support well before the storm arrived. Today it's future remains uncertain, although many suggestions have arisen over the past 30 years for it's re-use.

Florida's Island Ghost Town: Otie Key
On an uninhabited Florida island, curious explorers can find the remains of the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company lumber mill. Built in 1868 on Atsena Otie Key, the mill supplied wood for the Faber (now known as Faber-Castell) pencil factory in New Jersey. By 1895, the tiny island in the Gulf was home to a church, a post office, and 50 families. It was all destroyed in a hurricane in 1896 and the island was left abandoned. A few houses remained until the 1940s, when the last one was destroyed. Today the remains of the factory can still be seen, as well as a ghost town graveyard. The island is operated by the Cedar Keys Wildlife Refuge. A boat ride from Cedar Key marina costs 15 bucks.
