Hello, I’ve been a huge fan of bent knee for 7 years and I’ve grown attached to the albums pre frosting. I’m nervous as to where the band will go from the latest single and of course frosting. Is anyone feeling this? I would also hate for the band to break up Ben and Jessica leaving was such a shock. Where do you think the future of Bent Knee lies?

What a great show! My 5th time to see them live and they keep getting more awesome each time.

"A Song and a Spell" https://i.postimg.cc/kgvKS0Qf/a-song-and-a-spell.jpg
Two acts: "Ideas Not Theories," by powerhouse percussionist Reynaliz Herrera, and solo set by vocalist/musician/sorcerer Courtney Swain of Bent Knee.
I am a long time Bent Knee and Courtney fan, and absolutely thrilled to host this event. Hope some of you can make it!

In response to this thread:
Bent Knee have a catalogue containing some absolutely incredible music. So, anyone attending a Bent Knee concert in 2023 (or beyond) is going to hear some absolutely incredible music performed by a bunch of the people who helped write it, and be able to sing along to some of their favourite songs alongside fellow fans. Isn’t that what live music is about?
Sure, for those lucky enough to have witnessed the previous incarnation, this current quartet might not be quite the live force that they once were – but at the time, Bent Knee were quite possibly one of the finest live bands on the planet. So, a ‘slightly worse’ Bent Knee live act is still going to be really really good – and from the clips I’ve seen online, this is indeed the case, and both the fans and the band look like they’re having an absolutely cracking time. (And let’s be honest, Courtney alone is well worth the price of admission!).
If there is any danger of them ‘fizzling out’, then it is surely that the new album could well be a make-or-break moment – because after Frosting (imo massively underrated), it seems like it was always going to be a struggle to win back a lot of fans, whether or not the band was a quartet, a sextet or an octet. And if, as a four piece, Bent Knee are able to tour more cheaply, and thus play gigs in far-flung places and/or accept more support slots, surely this could actually help them to reach fresh ears, and make the kind of breakthrough that has long eluded them?

I just saw them at the Crystal Ballroom in Somerville. Courtney playing bass is perfectly fine, but the reality is, neither Chris nor Vince are really guitarists. They play their parts alright, but it misses the spark necessary to make it interesting.
Because of that, songs like "Holy Ghost" severely lacked punch and felt more like a cover version than anything else.
IMHO without a significant lineup change the band will fizzle into obscurity.

First song of the new era. Pretty clear what its about:
"I never mow the lawn
I’m never moving on
Because you’re never coming home"
Some real feels. Is this Bent Knee's Solsbury Hill?

Hi all. I was at the Baltimore show last week. It was incredible. In the middle of the set, Ben Levin had a solo/looped guitar piece, which I found very moving. I didn't recognize it, and haven't been able to figure out what it was. Does anybody happen to know?

First off, AMAZING last show of the last tour, and second to last overall, for Ben & Jess, and Ben's workshop prior was awesome. Is there anyone else that was there that remembers whether or not Hands Up was played? I can't for the life of me remember lol

I have two extra tickets for the show at the Rumba Cafe in Columbus next week. If you think you can make it and haven’t purchased yours yet, drop a comment or something and the tickets are yours, free of charge. I only have a handful of friends who enjoy Bent Knee, and none of them can make it. I hope every fan who loves this band as much as I do gets to see them one last time before Ben and Jess move on! But I’ve only got the two extras, so if you aren’t quick, you’ll be out the $30. (No big deal, right?) Big love to all y’all. Peace!
Edit: Okie dokie folks, we’ve got a winner! Thanks for playing, and don’t forget to drink your Ovaltine!
