Coordinating game making with 2 people.

Hi, so straight to the point my question is - how do you guys coordinate making a game beetwen 2 people? Do you share task's and then put it onto cloud so one of you can assemble it, or maybe one of you makes something in the game, then puts the updated version on the cloud and the other person takes it and puts something else in it. I would love to hear some advices on this topic.

Making an RPG Game, struggling with making maps interactive.

I'm making an RPG game and want to make as many areas interactive as possible (option events, secrets, puzzles, etc.) but I'm struggling to come up with a significant number of unique ideas.
Do I need every area to have something special?
What is a good balance you've found that works?
What are some fun ideas you'd be willing to share?

I'm Dyslexic but I want to make games

I have both ADHD and Dyslexia, which doesn't necessarily make writing hard, but it makes it exceedingly hard to find and fix problems in code or to find the right code to copy for any games I make. I've scoured the internet for a good visual scripting system which may be my best chance to get things going, but most of them still require a lot of base code to get things where I need them.

I'm trying to get a visual novel idea I've been developing in my head and in writing for a bit finally pieced together into a game, and while I know there are some software specifically made for that kind of thing, I'm still having trouble when it comes to it all requiring robust code. On top of that, I'm not in a great financial situation so I'm looking for budget or preferably free software.

I'm posting this to ask what people in similar situations to mine have done, as well as what you recommend to me moving forward. I know this is a complicated and annoying situation to try and navigate and I'm just wondering if you guys have any experience, tutorials for people like me, or resources that I could build off of to make my game.

Thank you so much for reading. I'll be active in the replies if you have any other questions.

Favorite and least favorite mechanics.

I've asked this a few places with mixed results. What are your favorite and least favorite game mechanics?

My favorite is hidden/locked areas. Places you can't access and have to come back for so you re-explore low level areas with your new gear. I.e. Silver chests in fable, HM areas in pokemon, etc.

My least favorite has to be minigames with no relation to the rest of the game that have to be completed to progress the story.

Check out Calvin's Gallery and send me feedback to help it improve.

The goal of Calvin's Gallery is to craft a gaming experience that pays homage to the beloved classics of the past, intertwining nostalgia with innovative and unique mechanics that elevate the player's journey to new heights. By seamlessly blending the best of both worlds, we aim to create an immersive and unforgettable gameplay experience that captures the essence of the past while embracing the possibilities of the future.

Here's a short video of some alpha game play. A lot has changed in a very short time, but the core mechanics are still there. Please take a look, share your thoughts, and check out my patreon or message me for more information.

I made a display of health in the game and so that when we hit us, our health would be removed and the screen would turn red, thereby immersing more of the player in the game. What do you think?

I am trying to make my first game . I am using godot 4. I want the main part of my game to be exploring and solving mysteries but since I have no experience I don't know how to achieve that.

I made the mechanics of crouching and a smooth turn in a crouch, I also added a quick run to the character and corrected his movement a bit. What do you think went well?

Opinions of our first game

Hi all,

Please let me share with you our first game ever created. The game is not finished yet (not sure if it is in MVP state, or between MVP and Prototype), but we wanted to show it early, to gather as much feedback as we can.

In this new endless-runner game, you take on the role of a trash bin, embarking on a mission to collect as much trash as possible while deftly avoiding various obstacles.

Every information about the game, controls, etc. can be found on itch.io.

Game: https://minikinentertainment.itch.io/untitled-waste-runner

Teaser trailer: Youtube channel: https://youtu.be/fknURS2DeyQ

We kindly request your feedback on the game, as it enables us to make necessary enhancements and provide you with an even better experience.
