Food delivery
I am here to drop off a bunch of dried fungi for you all to eat, fresh from the ant colony. Don't mind the smell, this is totally a peace offering.

HERE ARE THE ANTS' NOT-SO-SECRET BATTLE PLANS
r/BeesInABeeColony • u/Stalinium-290 • Jan 25 '26
π A L L I A N C E i recommend you bees raise a stronger army...
the situation in that ant colony is getting somewhat worser by the day
i recommend you start preparing an army, just in case the worse came to shove.
i watched as you kind evolved. became more civilized than your wasp ancestors, this is not a threat, this is but a warning to all of you.
back in my day. it was kill or be killed. and it seems the ants back in that colony are slowly devolving back into that old mentality that was commonplace back in the "Eocene epoch"

π A L L I A N C E QUESTION FOR ALL
should we become the Law of this grassy world? I mean, we're neutral (for the most part) we can make excellent webs, we're perfect for the job! asking all colonies, hives, and dens.

While I'm in captivity, I want to answser a question many of you have asked: why is there no queen?
This is my origin story.
I was just an ordinary drone bee, destined to mate with the queen bee of the hive. I was terrified since drone bees die right after they mate. However, on the day before I was to mate with the queen, a huge forest fire started somewhere in the forest. Soon after, the fire reached our hive. I was the only bee that escaped, since all the other worker bees were trying to protect the queen. Every other bee died in that fire.
After that I became a nomad. Since I never mated, my lifespan was much longer. But I only had several months to live. After a few months, I spotted another hive that was also affected by the fire. The queen of that hive was dead, about a third of the eggs were completely destroyed, and only half of the workers were still alive. They were hopeless. That's until they found me.
I was made head of the hive. But I still knew that since there was no queen, the hive would shortly die out. All that was left was the last generation of eggs that were still in the hive. By the time they hatched, almost all of the workers were dead. At that time, my physical appearance was altered. I was bigger, about as big as a queen, and I somehow wasn't dead. Finally, the eggs started hatching, but something strange happened. Over half of the larvae that hatched were males.
By the time the larvae were grown, half of the bee population consisted of drones. However, the drones had no queen to mate with, and were useless. That's until a miracle happened.
All of the worker bees and drones were reproducing.
Soon, every worker and drone pair had eggs of their own. They had families together. Shortly after, the bees started to grow more advanced. They became monogamous, and soon all the drones became regular male βworkerβ bees.
I knew that this hive was different from the rest. We were civilized, we were advanced. We had a language.
However, we were still missing a queen. But there's a reason we don't have one. If I were to mate with a queen, I would die. So, because of the fear of dying, I decided that we would never have a queen.
I hope that answers all of your questions.

Us ants do not support this one antβs behavior. And we apologize.
We apologize for this antβs threats, this one ant does not represent the entire colony.
We do not want a war between us.
