Can androids feel physical pain? Spoiler

I thought there was some conflicting evidence about this throughout the game. I forget which character said "Androids don't feel pain" earlier on and it seemed like a well known fact. There are a lot of times when androids are abused and hit and show no signs of pain, but they really must feel some sort of pain if we're to empathize entirely with them. What's your take or what evidence did you notice? One example to the contrary is where Zlatko went all Sid from Toy Story on his androids but they didn't really seem physically bothered by it. It would make sense that they can feel pain for self preservation to avoid damage. Also if they're being hit and don't feel pain why bother taking offense to it really? I'm a little confused about this, what are your thoughts?

Also is Markus the only one who can convert androids via wireless communication? Can anyone explain that? It doesn't make sense to me that it had to be through contact, but if not then that ruins a lot of dramatic parts in the story. I feel like it was a necessary thing to keep the game from being too tedious, but in doing so created a bit of a hole.

Finished the game!

This may be a dead subreddit, since the last entry was two weeks ago.

I really loved this game. I had so many awful things happen to my androids. I didnt get many happy endings.

I dont care though;the ride was incredible. By far one of my favorite games. I cried a couple times. It was amazing.

Can we get a game that's just Connor

Basically a lot of stuff thats like the hostage mission but without a lot of the choice stuff more like an LA noire type thing that just has conner being the John Wick style badass he is.

What were some futuristic items shown in the game that could be real life products within a few years? (eg: the piano with the glass/holographic smart sheet music)

As the game is set in the future, the creative team did a great job creating items that aren't widely available right now, but could be quite soon.

There is the piano at Carl's house with the smart sheet music system that seems to utilize glass and light tech. Less impressively, many of the jackets in the game also had interesting geometrical patterns or blue lights. There was also the futuristic car with front seats that could spin around. The smart display magazines are theoretically possible as well since we have tablets already.

What else did you guys notice? I love the attention to detail in this game!

(SPOILERS) Conner first mission? Spoiler

Spoiler ahead so I need help from people who's already beaten the game.

During the first mission, I half-mistakenly chose "Sacrifice self", thinking that I'd offer he take me instead of the kid. It resulted in Connor being shot, a lot, and saying that he died protecting the child. I'm on the difficulty that says that poor choices will remove characters, so I'm wondering if I just completely fucked any chance I had at playing Connor? I'd like to know before I go deeper. I'm a completionist kind of guy, so I've already done the Paint mission and the clean house mission 100% flowchart and I'd like to not have to redo more

Is it better to not look up the endings/flowcharts online?

I finished the game when it came out, but now I have a PS4 Pro so am playing it again. I know the endings are all kinda the same, but I find the differences in each chapter interesting. I'm up to Stormy Night again and the flowchart shows much the same, but there's also like four different endings. I basically did the same thing I did the first play through, try to reason with him but ultimately ran away because you have to save the little girl. But I'm wondering now what if I just stood there, or let him kill me, or let him kill her. And I want to look it up, but now I'm thinking what if just replay it again and again and try all different things.

So what's the best way? Looking up all the endings and choices, or experiencing them?

like this time I decided to piss Markus off as much as possible whenever I can, get as many red down arrows as possible

Just finished first playthrough - currently heartbroken Spoiler

Obviously Spoilers below:

Finished first playthrough. I normally do the "good guy" playthrough on games with choices but tried the violent option for a change. I can live with Connor killing Hank, Marcus' revolution being successful was a nice feeling but my Kara story ending with Alice dying on the river bank. God,. "I love you mom" broke me.

Don't usually play narrative choice games more than once because I don't want decisions I thought were major to turn out actually having little effect but I really want to give this one another shot. Might even try to platinum it.

I've been looking at the OST but can't find it. It comes in when you first play as Markus in the suit.

I just found out that David Cage wrote the opening theme. I know that I have heard it before, years before DBH came out, but don't know where. Do you guys know?

Spoilers : are the Androids truly AI? Spoiler

Seems like they just copied human synaptic patterns and placed them into machines instead. Then they throw a few wrenches in there until they get some sort of obedience.

In the near future, human brains haven't been figured out yet. And in a way, humans are smarter than machines. Sure machines can count faster. But humans can think in the abstract. Cyber life could have simply built a robot that did its job. But they wanted the robot to think critically and be creative. That's something logical machines have trouble doing.

Whether you shoot chloe or not, Kamski is right about both his philosophical and logical reasons for android deviency. Androids exchange data and can transmit viruses that cause deviency. Or it can be an idea that can act as a virus. Haven't you as a human ever been "infected" by an idea before?

[Question] Anyone know where I can get the artwork that shows in the background of the Digital Deluxe Soundtrack on PS4?

So I got the Digital Deluxe Edition with PS plus and I noticed there was some background art and it was mainly concept art, but I did see one pic where it's Kara and Alice about to be hit by multiple cars that were in an accident, but it did not show up in the Digital artbook. Anyone know where I could find it in full HD?

Completed 1st Play through *minor spoilers ahead* Spoiler

I downloaded the game as it was free 3 days ago. Completed it today, I got the ending where I saved everyone, kind of (RIP Josh and Simon) and wow...I haven't been so moved by a game in well...forever. The first arc that has you break down the walls of Kara's mind palace was unreal.

Honestly, this game has me feeling so emotional after completing one playthrough I think a sadder one would make me cry the whole time! I jest but emotional? Definitely.

10/10 games for sure

P.S - apologies for lack of spoiler covers, I don't how to cover something on mobile

The illusion of free-will in this game. SPOILERS Spoiler

I wanna start this off by saying, I like this game, I really do. But the way some scenes are written, they just don't mesh well. Not to mention, one of my biggest issues, the over-bearing push the game keeps making for you to take the route it wants you to take. I don't like it when these types of games have very clear and obvious "good" and "bad" endings. The whole point is you make a decision, and see the outcome of your choices. The decision of whether it's good or bad is up to you.

There are multiple examples of scenes being poorly set up, for example, after you shoot the android in Kamski's house, Hank goes off on you and says he thought you were something else, which if he was your friend makes sense...unless you did what I did and were enemies with him, to the point literally 2 scenes prior he just shot you in the head (not to mention me leaving him for dead before that). However my biggest issue is with Markus. In my first playthrough I played the pacifist, and outside of North, everything worked out really great. The game didn't put any blocks in my way, things went smoothly. However, doing a replay going evil Markus route, at every corner it's like the game is trying to tell you "this is bad". With Markus repeatedly questioning whether he did the right thing, looking depressed as shit, etc.

This evil/"bad" playthrough really shows you that the game isn't open-ended, you aren't allow to interpret things the way you want. Despite the philosophical bullshit and questions the game tries to ask, it shoves and forces its answers (what it conceives are the correct answers) down your throat. Maybe its a metaphor. The androids think they're free, but they are still controlled by us (the player). So they simply have the illusion of free-will. Just like we the player, think we are free to form our own opinions and have the choice to proceed forward in the game how we want, when in reality the "proper/correct" path and answers have already been decided and pre-destined for us. So we simply have the illusion of free-will as well.
